Roshni Birmingham
@RoshniBham
Roshni Birmingham is a lead domestic abuse service supporting women and children from Black and Minoritised communities for over 45 years.
Attending Women’s Aid Conference today, an inspiring gathering of passionate individuals and organisations working to end VAWG. Proud to be part of the movement driving change, raising voices, and shaping a safer future for all. @womensaid
'When Karen told police she had been raped, she had hoped they would help her. Instead, she said the "absolutely horrendous experience" of reporting it caused her to drop the case.' bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
When someone loses their life to domestic abuse, it is an appalling failure of our society, the state and the systems designed to keep us safe. With a robust monitoring system for domestic homicide reviews we can prevent future deaths and tackle abuse. bit.ly/3IIYIbz
2/2 It was especially meaningful to connect with like-minded women who share a vision for a world free from violence and inequality. Thank you to all the incredible speakers, organizers, and attendees for creating space and sparking change.#WomensAid #EndVAWG #RoshniBirmingham

1/2 Last week, we had the privilege of attending the @womensaid Conference in Nottingham. What an inspiring experience it was. Listening to the powerful voices of women across the sector reminded me why we do this work. I left feeling energised, encouraged, & deeply motivated.

A huge thank you to @ApsanaBegumMP for being such a powerful and inspirational speaker at the @womensaid conference. Her strength in sharing her journey as a survivor of domestic abuse moved us all. 💜 #WomensAid #DomesticAbuseAwareness #Inspiration

Inspiring opening delivered by @FarahNazeerCEO at the @womensaid Conference. Her powerful words and unwavering commitment to ending VAWG set the tone for a day of reflection, action, and hope. #WomensAid #EndDomesticAbuse

Honoured to attend the Centenary Action at Portcullis House — a powerful celebration of the suffragette movement and the ongoing fight for women’s voices in politics. The speakers were truly inspirational, reminding us how far we’ve come and how vital it is to keep pushing.

Kyle Clifford consumed Andrew Tate’s content less than 24 hours before brutally murdering three women—their mother and two sisters—in their own home. Misogynistic rhetoric isn’t just talk—it’s a blueprint for violence.
I worked on this film for over 18 months with @wearehouse337 before leaving @womensaid & am so proud to see it launch today. I hope this raises important awareness, encourages schools to use the associated resources & helps secure much-needed funds for domestic abuse services.
Powerful film/animation - worked on by @Teresa_PS & team and launched by Women’s Aid in England . See open letter👇🏽
Last week, we were proud to attend the @GrBhamChambers Awards as patrons, with Nathan Wallis presenting the ‘Excellence in the Third Sector’ award to winners @RoshniBham for their vital work supporting women affected by domestic violence. #GBCCAwards25
Happy #InternationalWomensDay to all the incredible women I know, working hard to make this world a better place 💜 or just making the world a better place by being in it
‘Hidden scandal’ of domestic abuse-related suicides ‘needs urgent attention’ ow.ly/8k6Y50V8r5M
Surrounded by strength at @MillionWomen march. Women making themselves heard, demanding justice, and refusing to accept male violence as the norm. This is what resistance looks like.
This year’s Excellence in #ThirdSector award is.. @RoshniBham! 🥳🏆 Sponsored by @Wesleyan 👏 #GBCCAwards25
