Too many women are told to stay quiet, play nice, and be liked. I chose the other path. Calling out injustice and male power in the family courts — and not backing down. @guardian front page today. My new book He Said, She Said is out 1 May. 🔗 amzn.eu/d/gNb6zYW

At the end of 2023 I was targeted with horrific online abuse by an anonymous account. I’d suspected it was ran by the family of the man convicted of raping me but couldn’t prove this. I’m now aware my rapist’s father is posting the same vile content on his personal accounts 🧵
Survivors must walk a tightrope just to be seen as ‘credible’, while the system bends over backwards to protect their abusers. For five years, I represented former MP Kate Kniveton in the family court—a survivor of abuse at the hands of her ex-husband, who had been an MP and…
This ruling was a “victory against the old boys’ network that’s dominated our judiciary for too long” said the GMB union. Well done Judge Kate Thomas for holding the judicial appointments commission accountable. We need transparency not secrecy. archive.is/2025.07.24-065…

He Said, She Said. Who Do They Believe? This is the brutal reality of the family court system. It's often reduced to a “he said, she said” scenario—and more often than not, the court believes him. In Kate Kniveton’s case, the truth was on her side. But that didn’t mean the…

Former MP Kate Kniveton was raped, abused, and silenced. When she went to the family court to protect her child, the abuse didn’t stop—it moved into the courtroom. She spent five years fighting to be heard. Five years defending herself from counter-allegations. Five years trying…
We agree with Minister, @jessphillips: no abusive parent should have automatic access to their child. So why hasn’t the government changed the law? Why is the pro-contact culture still putting children at risk? @MoJGovUK
The presumption of contact for abusive parents should not be law in this country, but many violent perpetrators and sexual abusers continue to access their children due to rulings in the Family Courts. The Govt must act now to protect our children, what are they waiting for?
