With the government currently reviewing sentencing to help ease prison capacity, I'm deeply concerned that abusers will be released into the community without proper monitoring in place. Ministers must ensure victims do not pay the price for the prison overcrowding crisis.

This funding will bring relief to victims and their children, boosting vital services that support them in their most vulnerable moments. I hope govt's VAWG strategy will build on this to ensure every victim gets what they need, when they need it, so they can recover from abuse.
