No gaps. No overlap. No freelance.
We had a few qualification calls with hiring managers today. Here’s what they don’t want to see: 1. Frequent job hopping with no clear reasoning 2. Big gaps in work history you can’t explain Take that for what it is.
Yes, employers don't care about "raw intelligence" because you don't use "raw intelligence" much at work. They only care about you displaying a history of consistency both in general and in the particular role they are looking to fill.
I suspect that companies tend to be very interested in knowing whether you have a history of showing up somewhere for 4 straight years, doing tiresome and often useless things, complying with bureaucratic procedures . . . More relevant than raw IQ in most work settings.
It's Friday, your workday ends after your last meeting is over. I scheduled a bunch of job interviews today like a moron, so I'm not out until like 3pm. Sad.
"We have begun the development of artificial wombs to address low fertility" Have you considered banning condoms first? "Impossible" What about the pill, could you ban that at least? You know it contaminates our water supply. "Best I can do is 10 million immigrants"
I never liked the "em dash". I always preferred to use commas as I found the dash a bit pretentious. So I'm very happy to see how the thing that is begging us to consider it intelligent uses the "em dash" extensively to the point that it has become a low status signifier.
Hey guys, do you think the cheap and widely available tools that make women artificially infertile or stop a man's seed from reaching a woman's eggs may have at least *something* to do with reduced fertility? Nah, can't be. It must be everything else, like house prices.
The last time Colombia had low marriages rates an entire new race of people were born. Now it means erasure of that same race. I get so mad at fertility discourse because it's rather obvious that contraception is the main problem. Everything else is secondary.
Colombia has had one of the fastest fertility drops in the world, from 2.57 births/woman in 2000 all the way down to 1.2 in 2024. How can it be that Colombia, with a GDP of 7K per year, has a fertility so much lower than the US? And why is this happening across Latin America? 🧵
Literally my daily routine. 4HL until 11am. Lindy walk/lunch/gym/whatever. Work on side project (Job Stacking business).
>4HL >lindy walk >work on side project 🔁
It's probably easier to manage a harem than a single woman just like it's easier to handle multiple children and multiple jobs. Optionality changes your interactions because it decreases anxiety and feelings of being "stuck".
You think you want a harem of twenty women until you get one and realize you'd shoot yourself if you had to manage twenty.
The best argument I can make for LLMs not really being able to think the way humans do is that they don't spontaneously go on multiple tangents when "talking" about a particular subject.
Given recent discourse around retirement, I'm retweeting my Final Fantasy X gag thread where I change the dialogue of the party's encounter with Yunalesca to be about employment. The attitude the right has surrounding employment is very similar to Yunalesca's rhetoric on death.
Yunalesca: Have you chosen the hobby or family member to become your sacrifice? Who will it be? Yuna: Might I ask something first? Will Employment come back even should I sacrifice my weekends to defeat it?
K-Pop is the biggest safe-horny thing I've ever seen and I believe that's the point and source of its appeal. You watch it and are mesmerized by the choreography, but the girls are not even that cute. No actual titillation is elicited. It's sexlessness cosplaying as horniness.
It's Friday, your workday ends after your last meeting is over. You can tell remote work is back because even with 9 jobs I have almost no meetings at all on Fridays. Just office job number 2 screwing things up a bit with a meeting at 2pm.
The "nepo baby" issue is similar to the "child indoctrination" question. Someone will be putting their nephew in positions of power and advantage, so it might as well be you or your nephew.
Stop hating on nepo babies and set up your life so your kids can be them
This is proof Remote work is still growing
