A) The Taylor rule isn’t perfect, but it’s a reasonable thing to look at, and it is currently saying rates should be almost precisely where they are, 3% lower is bat**** insane B) “Costing us a ton of money” seems pretty crazy. There is another side of the ledger, those who…
🚨 JUST IN: President Trump accuses Fed Chair Jerome Powell of costing the US a TON of money by keeping interest rates so high. "We should be 3 points lower!" "We should be number 1, and we're not, because of Jerome Powell." I am with @Pulte on this. He must RESIGN.
Using #sludge as a disguise for cutting benefits. So dishonest. @CassSunstein

The facts are simple and devastating: Aid cuts have already cost lives, and the number of deaths will continue to rise. Here’s the evidence.
Boo! Sludge wins, consumers lose. @CassSunstein
This is a terrible economic outcome. In my research (links below), I've shown that the subscription cancellation problem is big and leads to significant overpayments. The click-to-cancel rule was poised to make meaningful progress on this problem. Requiring firms to make it…
Remember when the GOP at least pretended to be a believer in basic economics?
@TheEconomist describes the BBB perfectly: Fiscal Incontinence
Misbehaving by Nobel Prize winner Richard H. Thaler explains why humans flawed, biased, and unpredictable clash with standard economic theory. @R_Thaler Packed with stories and sharp insights, it shows how understanding our quirks helps us make smarter decisions in life,…
Great piece! A good follow up would be on the role of sludge in MAGA. Make it as hard as possible for the poor to qualify for benefits. You have to prove you are eligible twice a year! But tax giveaways like carried interest just slide by.
Terrific essay on sludge! @R_Thaler @TheAtlantic theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/…

Nice piece in the @WSJ Since 2020 the CBO has systematically underestimated future deficits. @RichardRubinDC on why: "Stuff happens and Congress congresses".

New SF public school plan would - eliminate homework and weekly tests from counting toward semester grade - allow students to take the final exam multiple times - convert all B grades into As, and all Fs into Cs It’s hard to see the difference between this policy and what…
Here's detail on #SFUSD Grading for #Equity plan briefly discussed @ tonite's #school board meeting. Coming to 14 high schools in August. Homework, attendance not counted toward academic grade. Scrutiny needed. thevoicesf.org/grading-for-eq… @SFParents @TheVOSF @garrytan @incitafusio

Hey, I am told that the e-book (Kindle) version of Nudge is now on sale for $1.99. Such a deal! @CassSunstein I think you already have it.

I have also wondered this but high pay is only half the answer. Why are billboards the chosen *medium* for personal injury lawyers? As opposed to say TV?
Why are personal injury attorneys the marginal bidder for roadside billboards in so many parts of the US? Is the sector really so large? A priori, I would never have predicted this. Quick investigation: "Costs and compensation paid in the U.S. tort system reached over $529…
Poor choice of title! Consistent with the main idea, when I saw the title I thought, oh this is a retraction. No need to read!
