Leaseholders in #Newcastle can face supposed charities like the Mary Magdalene & Holy Jesus Trust who refuse to extend leaseholds; or extortionate Building Management, Fire Safety & Ground Rent Fees yet the Govt's Leasehold Reform Bill won't help them. I asked the Govt - why not?

Helping children is a good cause yes. But ripping off leaseholders is not the right way to fund this. The mysery leasehold causes can not be underestimated.
@NLC_2019 are the most influential & effective leaseholder group. I'd focus on them.

Many people are happy to support children's charities. But that should be entirely voluntary, not on pain of losing their home if they stop their 'subscription'. You need to find an ethical means of fundraising.

We continue to campaign for abolition and really wish gov could flick a switch today and it disappears. The steps we've helped happen over the past 8 years are certainly not "baby steps" - the ground rent act 2022 is considered the death knell of Leasehold. @NLC_2019
Marriage value was response to impertinence of leaseholders getting right to enfranchise at all. 2-storey permitted development rights were Tory wonks dreaming up a dud idea to increase supply without knowing - or listening - to others who wanted to reform leasehold.
