Our 911 TEO trainees have successfully completed another geography ride along, aimed at equipping our call takers to assist individuals who may be unfamiliar with the city. This week's ride along focused on national landmarks and other points of interest for visitors.



MBSYEP participant had the opportunity to hear from OUC team members from a number of divisions - 911 and 311 Operations, I.T., Wellness, and more - about their careers. They ended their day with a mock CritiCall exam to test their decision making, typing, and mapping skills.




DPR x OUC Summer Enhancement programming is underway! All summer long, OUC is visiting @DCDPR Summer Camps across #All8Wards to teach our youngest residents how and when to call 911. 📍Barry Farm Recreation Center


Director McGaffin hosted @NormaJTorres and @RepKatCammack, co-chairs of the NextGen 911 Caucus, for a robust discussion about the growing landscape of public safety in our nation's capital and the critical roles our telecommunicators do each and every day to keep our city safe.




Last week, our Heroes in Headsets received 18,672 calls for service for police, fire, and EMS, and handled over 190 text-to-911 sessions with 96.83% of calls answered in 20 seconds or less. #WeAnswerTheCall

The current @dcpolicedept Reserve Recruit Class 2025-01 visited the OUC for an Operations tour and to shadow one of our veteran MPD dispatchers during a portion of her tour of duty.
