Yesterday my 16yr son had major surgery to correct pectus excavatum. He’s now in ICU and is recovering well. The outpouring of love & support from our church (@crbchattanooga) has been overwhelming. Truly, the local church is family, and one of God’s greatest gifts in the gospel.

Amen. I sign my name to this too, and could add more:
Five of the reasons I’m not an Anglican in no particular order: 1. Regulative principle of worship (whatever Christ does not institute in NC worship is prohibited) 2. Baptism of credibly professing disciples alone 3. Ecclesiastical fellowship should be separate from unbelief…
“Was believer’s baptism taught by the apostles only to disappear under the supervision of the greatest theologians of the church, and then reappear for the first time in (sic) sixteenth century?” When did the Anglican Church begin? Oh that’s right, the sixteenth century.
What makes Reformed Baptists unique is the baptistic congregationalism detailed in the 1689 LBCF. We share other distinctives with other traditions (RPW, soteriology, Covenant theology, etc), but our polity is unique, thoroughly biblical, & is perhaps the best part of being an RB

Church liturgy is not a secondary issue.
When a church does not have a robust liturgy, those who suffer the most are the children. They conclude that church is a performance on stage they watch, not a gospel they *participate* in. It's a matter of time before they grow up disenchanted with Christianity.
We must come to grips with the fact that God loves the (believing) sinner as sinner. His love isn’t because we’re repentant sinners, or because we have the potential to not be sinners. He loves sinners as sinners, because His love is not based upon us, but Christ in our place.
To the One with a Tender Conscience: You notice every flaw. You feel every failure. You repent, then repent for not repenting well enough. You worry your sin is worse because you knew better. You assume silence from God must mean disappointment. And you’ve wondered if maybe…

In Episode 207 of Theology In Particular, Dr. James Dolezal joins me to discuss the Council of Nicaea and the theological debates that precipitated it. This year is the 1,700th anniversary of Nicaea. We hope this conversation increases your appreciation for this important event…
Reformed or not, one of the biggest manifestations of antinomianism is how many Christian’s cry “legalism” when they’re expected to commit to church membership, honor their membership vows, obey those over them in the Lord, and submit to the government & discipline of the church.
This is not meant to be a hot take, but in my experience, antinomianism is much more common in the Reformed world than legalism. The concept of "evangelical obedience" scares us. Many seem to want to ignore the fact that there are over 1k imperatives in the NT.
“Church membership is where ‘it’s none of your business’ goes to die.” - @MattSmethurst 🔥 Yes and amen. Well said brother.
The RPW is not a secondary issue.
If you're aware of Jesus's condemnation of the Pharisees in the New Testament, you'll notice that the legalists are the ones who don't follow the regulative principle of worship.
