You'll never regret reading your Bible cover to cover.
26% of the chapters in the Bible involve a person to whom God appeared in a dream or vision. It's no wonder the Reformers, Puritans, & Covenanters were comfortable with the fact that such things can happen today, too. 1. Abraham – ~14 chapters (Genesis 12–25) 2. Abimelech – ~3…
We're a few hours out from Navajo Nation. Please pray for open doors, conversions, encouragement for the church, and zeal & stamina for the workers. Pray that Christ is front & center in all we do. We're bringing a team of 6 this year, 2 of them seminary guys.

It's easy to preach about the ills of society OUT THERE and never challenge the people right in front of you, beginning with yourself. But at what cost? "Your political pastor, when he sets out on his crusade of social reform, it is always against the sins or errors of some…

The preacher: “He is not to rest in general doctrine, although never so much cleared and confirmed, but to bring it home to special use, by application to his hearers: which albeit it prove a work of great difficulty to himself, requiring much prudence, zeal, and meditation, and…
"Thou shalt not slay the child by procuring abortion; nor, again, shalt thou destroy it after it is born." — Epistle of Barnabas 19:5 (AD 70-135)
Demolished a large fox somewhere in rural Nebraska, but he got a lick in also. Still en route to the outreach in Navajo Nation, thx for praying!

I know the CRC leans left, but I'm up here in Iowa & the people still have morning and evening services, a robust liturgy, and godly people in the congregation. I can work with that. Join me in praying for their reformation.
Will be preaching morning & evening services at the CRC in Hawarden, IA tomorrow. Pls pray for grace.
Got to hang out with this brother at the evangelism training in Iowa this week. He's a URC minister with fire in his bones. Fellow Puritan grad also. @RevElijahA

Resolved, Never, henceforward, till I die, to act as if I were in any way my own, but entirely and altogether God’s. —Jonathan Edwards
This is not meant to be a hot take, but in my experience, antinomianism is much more common in the Reformed world than legalism. The concept of "evangelical obedience" scares us. Many seem to want to ignore the fact that there are over 1k imperatives in the NT.
Here's an easy way to share the gospel every day. When you get a spam call or someone trying to sell something, immediately ask them if they know their sins are forgiven; do they have eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ; have they ever heard about Jesus? Unfortunately…
Better to abolish the pulpit altogether than to fill them with men who have no experimental knowledge of what they preach. -Spurgeon
I love this photo of Geoff Thomas preaching on the streets. Go find this man's sermons if you've never heard them before. He's also written some very fine books.

This is today in Hull, IA. Come out if you're in the area.
