Just a reminder - my quoting of any theologian is not necessarily a personal endorsement of or agreement with that quote. I post things I find interesting or of some significance
“I have one thing in mind in particular, namely, the hypothesis that from start to finish, the Old Testament is a Messianic document, written from a Messianic perspective, to sustain a Messianic hope.” - James Hamilton
True or false: The Covenant of Grace is a conditional covenant, the condition being a professing believer’s final perseverance
This is a bigger deal than many seem to understand (or even be aware of). Baptist or Anglican, Barrett had his scholarship in RAR skewered by his academic peers and he completely ignored all please to respond or engage with them
Angry fundamentalism = journal symposiums with world class leading scholars discussing your book and inviting you to contribute/respond? Huh. thelondonlyceum.com/the-reformatio…
I got friends from all traditions, but my homies are baptized as believers, such as: Basil of Caesarea, Gregory of Nazianzus, Gregory of Nyssa, Macarius, Patrick, and Augustine and @jake_stone89.

I am blessed to attend an SBC church that follows the basic flow of the historic Christian liturgy, uses a lectionary, celebrates the whole church year, and has weekly communion. But even without these things, I would remain a Baptist. Here's why:
Place money on me to become an Anglican now, because I am and plan to continue to be liturgically creeds and confessions maxing
It shouldn't be a surprise that Matthew Barrett is now an Anglican. He denied Sola Scriptura, likening it to "solo" Scriptura. History has shown that liturgical use of creeds and confessions drifts people away from Scripture, not towards it. This pattern will continue.

I would highly recommend the work of @BaptistRenewal and @LondonLyceum. These sites are filled with serious Baptist scholarship.

As the co-author of this SBC resolution, and a member of an SBC church who will be reciting the Nicene creed this coming Lord’s Day before participating in the Lord’s Supper, I can assure you that reports of our “rejection” of creeds for “solo scriptura” are demonstrably false.
It is interesting to learn from former Southern Baptist theologians that Southern Baptists are averse to the Nicene Creed, especially since we identified ourselves with it in a resolution just this year.
The Baptist faith is orthodox, catholic, biblical, rich, bloody, and beautiful. Here I stand!

The Anglican tradition has produced many notable and godly theologians and churchmen. But they also produced Daniel Featley, William Laud and the Great Ejection, so
