Wonderful first column from @msjlindsay!
The 'kindest' outcome of the Sandie Peggie v NHS Fife tribunal would be a return to reality.' The first of my (regular!) Monday pieces for The Scotsman. scotsman.com/news/opinion/t…
Love this book. An absolute surprise that adds to your life.📚
In September we publish the paperback edition of Joanne Bourne’s Flint, described by the Daily Telegraph as ‘a very British love-letter to the beauty of flint’. Pre-order it online from Waterstones using the code SUMMER25 and you get 25% off shorturl.at/ZkrC3
Excellent and illuminating piece.
Excoriating from The Sunday Times on the behaviour of NHS Fife. It's astonishing that any of these people can hold their heads up & defend what they did to Sandie Peggie. archive.ph/3K1ve
Early onset No. I hope she was never cured.
Portrait of a young grumpy girl from the 1850s.
Not many voices like mine get a seat at this table — this year, just one. I’ll be on stage with Abigail Dean for an event that matters to me deeply. Your support in the room will mean the world: it’s going to be a wonderful, bookish conversation.📚

This breaks my heart. An ongoing human rights outrage, happening in plain sight, where women and girls are being treated worse than domestic pets. More has to be done to help these women.
From an Afghan woman to Dear @jk_rowling , I am writing to you as an Afghan girl whose only crime is being born a woman in a land where womanhood is punished. Here, we are not allowed to speak loudly. Even our voices are considered threats. We are locked inside our homes,…

Thank you. It's really important to keep reiterating that Upton is in no way a victim of anything. Like many others he has exploited a corrupt system for his own purposes. I have no doubt that if not halted his behaviour would have escalated.
Don’t worry, I understand that. However, he is truly a creature of pure malevolence. Manipulative, deceitful & genuinely dangerous, he cultivates a faux-victimhood to allow him to infiltrate & control.
Four 'ordinary' women who've fought for women's and girls' rights to safety, privacy and dignity at immense personal cost, taking on well-funded lobby groups, ideologically captured public bodies and a political class that treats women with contempt. Actual, real life heroines 🔥
At the #sandiepeggietribunal in Dundee with two solid gold heroines, Sandie & Roz Adams. Never underestimate the strain this process has. We are grateful for their courage.

For anyone outside Scotland incredulous at the Scottish Government's insane doubling down -- check out the failed Named Person legislation and you will understand. They will not stop until they are stopped. John Swinney, is -- to borrow today's nomenclature -- a zealot.

If this level of incompetence and corruption had been exposed over any other issue the country would be in uproar. Oh wait
