No Succession Plan. In this economy?
@ModernDayZorro
Gregory Fox. Writing that hits like a fist, and feels like a prayer; "If people wanted you to write warmly about them, they should have behaved better.”
GCC--August 29th Sunday Service: "This lawsuit is going in our favor". Crickets. "Obviously many people contracted Covid...in December and January, that's when I began to realize how many people were ill. That's when Patricia and I "enjoyed" our own bout with COVID".
Oh, that's a big one. For those who named Costi Hinn, even Steven Lawson back in the day, or HB Charles. There's no one on your short list who could continue the theological traditions that John espoused without making huge carveouts for hyper Calvinism and post-mil.
Can he sign the doctrinal statement as it relates to premillennialism?
We talked about going "outside hire" in January right about the time Phil Johnson, pictured here, called us whatever he called us.
A clip from GraceLife last Sunday. Phil's body language when Mike speaks. 😂 So, @deanlentini had a recent Underdog Theology episode on the succession issue. Go check it out. For so long, we were gaslit into thinking that anyone on the elder board could succeed John at GCC,
succession plans. Just the same names you see (Riccardi--too young, Lawson--too old, Owen--too...Owen, Beeke--too Reformed and old, and a bunch of people you hadn't heard of--unconnected and boring). *not meaning to be a bit crass, but this is what people are saying.
I prefer this one.
Steve Lawson would have been the obvious choice to replace John MacArthur but he got caught, so there's always>>>
Just not this church. Elders will decide and they can't agree on anything or perform any function without MacArthur. John set up the church to fall when he goes.
Two names that were elders during the Eileen Gray scandal. Might they go with a younger person? I pray they go with someone I know. LOL
Lance Quinn, Jerry Wragg, and that gaggle are salivating. They’ve been gone long enough to have polished their CV, gotten back in JMac’s graces. It’ll be someone from mid 90s to mid 00s.
GCC elders Johnson & Riccardi: who will fill John’s pulpit? “No one knows. My suspicion is that it will be someone who was trained here & probably not someone who is here now.” -PJ Austin preached each Sun morning Feb-June but Busenitz will continue the book of Mark in Aug.
At least in this second biography, Phil won't be the one to have written it. **Iaian Murray had no part in the biography, but was paid well for saying as much. I don't wish to malign Iaian, but that is the truth and there's much more regarding it. The hagiography continues.
See for yourself. So let’s hope this image is fake, right? Otherwise I hope to see details of these mad party shenanigans in MacArthur’s next biography.
Great thread. Thank you for saying this.
Faithful father? Take this down Justin. Ask Wendy Guay or Eileen Taylor. Ask about his embellished (at least) role in the civil rights movement & aftermath of MLK assassination. His defense of slavery. It is not healthy for this man to be held up as an example to follow.
Always with the insults. This is not the way.
David runs two businesses. Real ones. Not the imaginary kind.
It doesn't answer the question as to why you follow us. There's a lot of people that appear on my TL and I don't follow most of them.
The algorithm was puts you in my feed as rage bait. I assure you, I don’t go out of my way to see your tweets.
