Ethical issue: we ordered some towels from Brooklinen. Very expensive towels. The shipment was lost and so they replaced it. Now the shipment has shown up and I have both orders. Do I contact them about returning the newest order? Or do I keep the towels?
Having coffee in my garden this morning, saw hummingbirds fighting over the feeder. There’s plenty of nectar for all of them, but they spent more energy chasing each other away & being territorial. Didn’t even enjoy the free food given. Reminds me a lot of Christians on here.

Theological infighting on here is exhausting. Watching believers tear each other apart over secondary issues wounds our witness & the heart of Christ. Your theology isn’t flawless. Neither is mine. “By this all people will know…” (John 13:35) Is that what they’re seeing?
A person‘s view of God versus a person‘s view of man tells me everything I need to know about them. A high view of God, a low view of man? That’s wise God focused person. High view of man, low view of God? They are going to be tossed about constantly struggling to keep control
When someone of influence passes, everyone felt like they knew them: they saw interviews, read their book, listened to their sermons. They have a curated image of that person. The reality is that people knew the real person, their lived experience is different, & that’s valid.
The Bible makes heroes of no man. Even the greatest figures were deeply flawed. Scripture never hides it. So while we may respect them, we don’t elevate them. They were people. Broken sinners in need of a Savior. Honor the truth. Not the myth. Not the legend. Not the legacy.
GCC: Now is the time to turn your eyes upon Jesus, the Author & Perfecter of your faith. He is your true love, hope, strength. He is mighty to save. It’s time to put the indicatives in front of the imperatives. Come back to your first love. He’s waiting with open arms.
“He faithfully preached the truth!” So? You can be the best expositor in the world & if you don’t have fruit or you don’t daily do what you preach, it really doesn’t matter, it does it? You can tickle all the ears with all the right words & still be a loveless banging gong
Gay folks are to evangelicals what Samaritans were to the Jews. Not a good look. They are broken Image Bearers. Just like you. Pray for them, don’t revile them. How will they know we are Christians? By our love. You don’t have to agree with them, but you MUST love them
The Gaines situation: Why the outrage? I’m sure they’ve worked with gays before. Perhaps when folks see gays as regular folks who pay mortgages, have wild kids, laugh, cry, it humanizes the “Other. ” 🤷🏻♂️ Can’t have that. Sinners need Jesus, gay & straight. Be Jesus to them

When a church becomes focused on the teachings of one man who preaches theology based on his interpretation of the text, starts conferences, buys a local college, starts a seminary that teaches his theories on scripture to the exclusion of everything else… It’s a cult. Period
