Labour promised growth, but we got: 👉🏻 A £200 billion borrowing spree 👉🏻 Punishing taxes & 👉🏻 No growth My words in @ChamberVoice
From @gracelunn2: Reform can't admit that immigration is merely a symptom of Britain's real problems conservativehome.com/2025/07/23/gra…
There is no fiscal trajectory in which the British state can honour the pension promises made to the public sector and general population.
I think since the impact of these defections has massively worn off. Until an active Tory MP defects - I don’t think anyone will take much notice. And it’s been that way for a while.

Delighted to meet our new Shadow Housing Secretary @JamesCleverly today. @consyimby look forward to working with him to get Britain building again! #BuildBabyBuild
Pay NICs every year from age 16 and you'll have qualified for the full state pension at 51. But not only do they continue taking NI from your wages, despite it entitling you no more state pension, they also keep raising the time until you actually receive it. NI is a scam.
At 16, they started taking NI payment from my wages. No one asked my permission. I was simply told this was to fund various things, including my pension at age 65. It was a deal. They took my money. Then raised the age to 66. Then 67. They are welching on the deal. That's all
EXCL: Former Unite boss Len McCluskey enjoyed private jet flights and football tickets arranged by the firm who built a multi-million pound hotel for the union, a report seen by BBC finds bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
"Tories need to remake the argument for conservatism and capitalism...and build more homes. They must also cut red tape to enable Britain to build vital infrastructure to inculcate a new generation of optimism" Very encouraging stuff from James last year 👇
NEW: James Cleverly will become as Shadow Secretary of State for Housing. Tories see this as a key role to take on Angela Rayner
The worst thing about wealth taxes is just the threat can discourage investment and encourage people to leave. Rachel Reeves must rule out a wealth tax ASAP. She should be as clear as possible that she thinks a wealth tax is a terrible idea and will never happen.
This is the essential read on wealth taxes. @DanNeidle explains: - Why the far-left's revenue estimates are wildly over-optimistic - Why wealth taxes reduce economic growth - Why a wealth tax is unlikely to raise 1p before the next election taxpolicy.org.uk/2025/07/22/uk-…
Senior Tory source tells me Kevin Hollinrake is being moved across to Party Chairman
The Premier League is the world's best football league and a brilliant British export Yet, as ever, our legislators insist that they know best
Football is in our country’s DNA. It means so much to so many of us. That’s why I’m proud that today we deliver on our promise to fans as the landmark Football Governance Act becomes law. Protecting clubs across the country and giving fans more say in how they are run.
Start treating ManSheffLeedsPool like a single economic cluster and watch growth 📈 (Green belt reform, railways, and new motorways necessary to make this happen)
🚄 "If you could put in an Elizabeth line for the North, you could have a single market for 9 million people - the same kind of thing as London." Lord O'Neill's vision for a northern economic powerhouse. 👇
I don’t get how this isn’t obvious to all concerned. When you require by law that pensions sometimes grow faster than the economy but never slower, what direction do you think pension spending as a % of the economy can go??
I feel like no one comprehends how insane the triple lock system is The cost of the triple lock of the British pension system may very well surpass British GDP during the time that I’m alive
The UK's biggest housing boom was built by 76,000 different building companies. The planning system killed this diversity.
They made it real
We’ve launched the Civil Society Covenant - a new partnership between government and civil society. Together, we’ll deliver real change through respect, shared ambition, and collaboration. This is what doing government differently looks like.
The Government are using this to claim they're cutting red tape
EXCL: Government will stop using wax seals on official documents. Seals were first used by Kings 1,000 years ago and have been used by the Govt for 150 years. It will be scrapped as part of red tape slashing drive to speed up govt for taxpayers Fab story by @SophiaSleigh
This is the key point with these environmental regulations What we need is a system that allows us to consider all the factors associated with housing and infrastructure in the round
What matters is that since 2020 five people are dead.
