Our new manuscript (my first as senior author 🎉). We found that the RNA helicase DDX1 controls germinal centre B-cell maturation through its role in tRNA splicing. If you like the work, consider joining us @BabrahamInst 👉babrahaminstitute.livevacancies.co.uk/#/job/details/…

I saw up close how @carovinuesa stood up & spoke out for science and evidence-based policy, in the face of enormous hostility, in the case of Kathleen Folbigg. She continues to do so for others, on top of her day job. I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this prize.
Pleased to see that @carovinuesa has been included in the shortlist for the 2024 John Maddox prize "for her work using genetic sequencing to prevent unwarranted accusations of parents that they have harmed their children".

Disappointed to hear that the MRC senior fellowship is discontinued. My MRC senior fellowship was very important for our research into RNA cap function. It meant that we could transition our biochemistry discoveries into physiology and drug discovery.
