Based @TheCrick, we research in two main areas: Signal transduction in the immune system and the Genetics of Down syndrome
nature.com/articles/s4146… Congratulations to Joshua Biggs O'May and other members of the team for a great paper showing that water influx is needed for T cell activation and division. An unexpected role for water. Likely to be true in many other cell types too.
A look back on a 2024 highlight in the Tybulewicz lab! Damaris successfully completed her viva in November has been enjoying her first months as Dr Damaris Bennett in the lab 🎉🥳

Congratulations to Rif and Eva on winning a Science Achievement award at the annual Crick Awards in recognition of all their hard work and a fantastic paper! 🥳 science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

Well done to Rif for an excellent presentation at the Crick Annual Science Meeting. Rif presented her work on causative genes of CHD in Down Syndrome, a project shared with Eva Lana-Elola which is now published in Science Translational Medicine! DOI: 10.1126/scitranslmed.add6883

Exciting @EMBO meeting on Chromosome Segregation and Aneuploidy on the beautiful shores of @LagoMaggiore meetings.embo.org/event/25-aneup…
We have a vacancy for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join our lab @TheCrick to study congenital heart defects in Down syndrome. To follow on from work we published in Science Translational Medicine. science.org/doi/10.1126/sc… crick.ac.uk/research/labs/…

crick.ac.uk/careers-study/… Exciting opportunity for a PhD student to work jointly with @RachelSEdgar and our lab @TheCrick to study the role of water potential and bio-condensates in T cell biology.
Happy World Down Syndrome Day 2024 🎉 Thank you to everyone who joined us for a fun-filled day of talks and activities at The Crick Institute on Saturday. We can’t wait to see you again next year! #WorldDownSyndromeDay
Happy #WorldDownSyndromeDay2024 from everyone in the Tybulewicz lab! Once again we are celebrating in our odd socks!🧦 #lotsofsocks

For #WorldDownSyndromeDay2024 Crick researcher Rifdat Aoidi from @TybulewiczLab spoke to actor @Sarah_gordy. Sarah spoke about here experience participating in research projects and attending our own celebration marking #WorldDownSyndromeDay on Saturday crick.ac.uk/news-and-repor…
On Saturday we held our annual World Down Syndrome Day event at The Francis Crick Institute. We heard from brilliant scientists on topics such as the thyroid, Alzheimer's disease, otitis media and the @LonDownS study. 1/7
We are looking forward to seeing everyone at WDSD on Saturday March 16th! A reminder that you must have a ticket in order to attend on the day. We currently have a long waiting list so please check you can still attend/have gotten a ticket ahead of time.
Researchers from the Crick’s @TybulewiczLab and @UCL have identified a gene that causes heart defects in Down syndrome. By reducing the gene’s activity, they partially reversed these defects in mice, making it a promising target for future therapies. crick.ac.uk/news-and-repor…
Super excited for our next WDSD celebration on March 16th 2024! The event is open to anyone with Down Syndrome and their families/carers - please share with anyone who you think might like to attend! Spaces are limited so get your free ticket now to secure your place!
Congratulations to @Leonard_deBoer for a beautiful study that has finally been published in @NatureComms. T cell migration requires ion and water flux into the leading edge. See Leon's thread for more details.

Happy #WorldDownSyndromeDay from the @TybulewiczLab! We are sporting our odd socks to mark the occasion 🧦 #WDSD2023

To celebrate the #WDSD2023, @t21rs has organized a multi-talk webinar. Join us to enjoy and discuss the data obtained from the young scientists of our society 🗓️ March 21, 6 PM CET t21rs.org/2023-world-dow…
