Respectfully, No. The ability to effectively seek therapies to any disease stands on the shoulders of decades of exploratory research. For the non-scientists reading this- if you or a loved one is taking a drug that is keeping you alive, it’s because of exploratory research.
As a taxpayer (irrespective of whether you’re a scientist) would you would be in favor of more of the @NIH budget going to fund efforts to solve specific diseases at the expense of basic exploratory research? Which diseases?
Congratulations to @jay_clicks for matching in Neurology @UCLA. They’re lucky to get you! @TuftsMedSchool @TuftsGSBS

I look forward to a time where don’t have to celebrate women’s day, but till then here to all the badass women!
Happy International Women’s Day! We’re celebrating women who have changed the world. Here are all of the amazing women who have received the #NobelPrize and their remarkable achievements at the time of the award. Tell us about the women who inspire you the most - and why…
The mood was defiant at many of the rallies, where chants of “Scientists will not be silenced”, “Facts over fear” and “What do we want? Peer review! When do we want it? Now!” were heard. go.nature.com/43rWyFG
Some great posters at the #Marchforacience #StandUpForScience Boston Rally. #Ubiquitin for the win!

#MarchforScience Boston here we come! Free @NIH research and release federal funding! @TuftsGSBS @TuftsMedSchool @tuftsmicrodei @TuftsUniversity

I have two amazing students supported by NIH diversity initiatives. This is so short-sighted and will destroy labs and young careers. Exclusive: NIH to terminate hundreds of active research grants nature.com/articles/d4158…
Please call your representative! It takes a few minutes and can make a difference if enough of us call. If you don’t know what to say-just use the script provided by @ASCBiology . @TuftsGSBS @TuftsMedSchool
Please join my cell biology colleagues and CALL Congress. emails are not as impactful. Here is a simple sample script
1) Since there is a lot of confusion about the reduction of the overhead rate on NIH grants to 15% (see here: grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/n…) I'll do a little tweetorial (or X-torial?) about it.
Congratulations to #PREP student Jacob Leibovitz for getting his first grad school acceptance! @TuftsGSBS 🎉🥳🍾

This is a great program. Please RT and consider applying!
The @TuftsUniversity PREP is now accepting applications. It provides intensive research experience and professional skills to prepare recent college graduates from URGs for success in biomedical PhD or MD/PhD programs. Apply by Feb 15 gsbs.tufts.edu/academics/non-…

Happy Holidays from all of us in the lab! White elephant 🐘, ugly sweaters and tacos every year. Grateful to work with these wonderful people! 🎄☃️

New grant approved! Hooray! Looking for a #PhDstudent with strong interest in membrane protein reconstitution, physicochemical membrane properties and FRET-based assays.👉 Which membrane properties drive protein partitioning to #LipidDroplets? Please share! #sciencejobs
