Weird how all these Utah cities with a UDOT-owned "Main Street" saw their local vibrancy decimated during the same period of the late 20th century when the state was pursuing a strategy of auto-oriented suburban sprawl, and are now fighting to bounce back ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Three years ago, Vernal had 25 business vacancies on Main Street. Today, there are less than five. With a strong local vision and downtown renewal plan, sales tax revenue has doubled, and Main Street is booming again.
