A major reason I can't stop looking at twitter. I am addicted to Epithelial Mechanics!
🎉 Happy International #EpithelialMechanics Day! 🎉
Hat's off to @immunofever for her brilliant work with Lyme disease - she channels the patient experience through deep knowledge of immunology, taking advantage of the technology environment at MIT.
Must-read on scientific & patient-centered trailblazer @ImmunoFever @MIT. MAESTRO study is a model for what research should be: data-driven, deeply collaborative, & grounded in the lived experiences of patients. #ChronicLyme #LongCovid #MECFS #IACCS wsj.com/health/chronic…
I listen to WWOZ online almost every day, and support them generously. Sharing the news that they will need more support going forward - try them out, and send them $$ if you love their groove! July 18, 2025 Dear Guardians of the Groove, This week Congress voted to revoke…
I still have my first edition, purchased at the UC Berkeley book store.... Hello, world. (stdio.h)
The C programming language by K&R is still so underrated. One of my favorite technical books of all time.
Martin Luther King Jr anticipated the state of modern academia when he said "People with good intentions but limited understanding are more dangerous than people with total ill will." You never escape the law of unintended consequences.
One of my favorite wastewater assays is determination of the species present. Sometimes things are surprising; other times they just don't make sense. Recently we found one that just didn't make sense. (This has to do with dogs) 1/
MIT-NovoNordisk liver team meeting this morning was 🔥🔥🔥. We finally have everything from scRNAseq to species translation models to microfluidic pumps good for immune cells. Long action item list, in all good ways. All human!

I won a Ducati Monster 750 in a bet.

Well said. This threat was not unknown. The failure of MIT to prevent these events is alarming.
. @MIT if this had been an attack of any other nature there would have immediately been an email sent out telling the community about the attack, condemning it, and showing steps to ensure safety. Why not now? Are we safe on campus? Are you taking this seriously?
Honest Q: How does the TME of disseminated tumor cells (such as I had at dx with TNBC) compare to that of the primary, in humans? What HUMAN data support using response of the primary to chemo, as surrogate for disseminated? Could chemo cause the primary to be worse?
Cisplatin and Eribulin are used in the treatment of triple-negative breast cancer, but currently without being combined— Emeric Limagne, Sylvain Ladoire & team @Inserm now explore their immunological effects in extensive analysis with multiple models: jci.org/articles/view/…
The MIT Faculty Newsletter, currently in limbo, has always published a weird mix of pieces about MIT campus academics along with boring political diatribes from campus activists. One piece I wrote about UG education resonates with student needs today. web.mit.edu/fnl/volume/196…
