Libertarian Party
@LibertarianCDN
Official account of the Libertarian Party of Canada. Making the argument for “less government, lower taxes and more freedom” since 1973. Leader: @voteboudreau.
"Michael Harris, the Libertarian Party candidate in the upcoming federal byelection for Battle River-Crowfoot, is calling out Pierre Poilievre in a new statement." “He’s running to be Prime Minister. Battle River–Crowfoot is just a stepping stone for his national ambitions. That…
Until Conservatives actually plan to balance the budget their tax cuts are just adding to the inflation and debt problem. We want to cut that 42% down more than anyone and we actually have the guts to cut the spending required to do so.
42% of your income—gone to taxes. More than food. More than housing. While your grocery bill climbs, Liberals keep spending like the tab’s not theirs. Canadians deserve better. Keep more. Spend less. #Taxation #Affordability #cndpoli
Dear Attorney General Downey (@douglasdowney), We at the Libertarian Party of Canada urge the Crown to reconsider the ongoing prosecution of Tamara Lich (@LichTamara) and Chris Barber (@ChrisBarber1975), which appears to reflect a troubling intent by the Crown to persecute…
The indifference that people have to disproportionate sentencing for crimes with a political nature is very concerning. We can debate what is a crime and if it was committed and all know there should be consistency in sentencing.
Voting for libertarians is the closest you can get to voting for yourself without standing for election. We don’t want to rule. We want to recognize your right to live your life on your terms provided the life, liberty and property of others is respected, too. #cdnpoli

Humbled to take over as executive director of @LibertarianCDN and honoured to hand off social media to @GuggenmosForMP after three years doing battle in virtual trenches. Help us put liberty first: libertarian.ca/join
Today, I spoke with the local farmers of Three-Hill's Alberta who feel like they’re living on their last legs not because of drought or market conditions, but because of Ottawa’s rigged system. Supply management isn’t saving family farms. It’s killing them. The cartel-style…
“The power that a millionaire has over me is much less than that of the smallest bureaucrat who wields the coercive power of the state, and on whose discretion it depends whether and how I am to be allowed to live or work.” — Friedrich Hayek
When we have cancer, we don’t need to ‘transition’ to not having cancer, we just need to cut it out. One such cancer is called supply management.
I advocate just ending supply management with no transition plan?? You clearly don’t know what you’re talking about @FoodProfessor. What does “gradually phase out SM with compensation” mean? The transition plan was there from the day I announced my position during the CPC…
Seeking 7 years in prison for Tamara Lich over a peaceful protest is deeply troubling. No matter where you stand on the issues she fought for, this raises serious concerns about fairness and proportionality in our justice system. This isn’t just about one case it’s about the…
We learned last evening that the crown has submitted their materials to our legal teams for our upcoming sentencing hearing. They are seeking a 7 year prison sentence for myself and 8 years for @ChrisBarber1975 I haven’t seen their docs yet but hopefully I’ll receive them…

The government isn’t broke. The country is. We need to stop allowing the government to feed on the country like a parasite and send a lot more than 99,000 bureaucrats back to the private (or productive) sector.
No, Bernier wouldn’t abolish supply management without taking an undefined number of years to ‘transition’ and picking your pocket for ‘compensation.’ You’d have to vote Libertarian for that.
He certainly is and the Canadian government would do well to emulate him but sadly it won't. Carney is a statist and central planner.
I wish the USA would do half of what Argentina is doing. They went from a 13% fiscal deficit (inc interest) to a SURPLUS in one year. Inflation is down to 1.5% from over 25% and poverty rates have dropped from 53% to 31% in ONE YEAR. Milei is the bomb!
Canadians deserve to keep what they earn, period, but if we’re not cutting spending, we’re not cutting taxes.
Canadians deserve to keep more of what they earn — so we cut taxes for the middle class. Families across Canada will save up to $840 a year. That’s good news for you, and good news for our economy.
