Today is #NationalPortChicagoRemembranceDay. On July 17, 1944, 320 mostly Black Sailors and civilians were killed in a deadly blast. The aftermath sparked a protest by 50 Sailors and helped push the Navy toward desegregation. We remember their courage and sacrifice.
