Any problem you have, can be fixed through the local church, by the ordinary means of grace.
I am more convinced than ever that we need godly men with sharp minds, warm hearts, and steel spines shepherding the church at home and across the world. @FoundersSem: foundersseminary.org
A great column from @davemitz on the passing of Hulk Hogan: "If his faith was genuine, then his most important move was not the atomic leg drop but bowing the knee to Christ." wng.org/opinions/remem…
A sound, biblical church, led by discerning shepherds, is one of the greatest safeguards we have against a lack of discernment. founders.org/articles/devel…
Church safety and security should be thought of in 3 phases. Pre-contact, contact and post-contact. The central elements to the 1st & 3rd phase is the ordinary means of grace, church discipline and discipleship. The 2nd phase is the tactics used to respond to an incident.
It is important to have a united congregation. Church safety and security is a church wide initiative. It takes a church to look out for things like this. My recommendation is ban any and all forms of recording.
Your. Church. Needs. A. Plan. For. Smart. Glasses. Yesterday.
This Lord's Day, @gracebaptist church will join countless other Baptist churches in gathering to worship our Lord. We will corporately confess the Apostles' Creed in the morning and the Nicene Creed in the evening—not because some denominational headquarters demands it of us,…
Hopefully being absolutely destroyed by grok will help him come to a better understanding of scripture.
Dude. @grok be exegeting for real! Nicely done.
Reformed Baptist are more reformed than most Lutherans and Anglicans.
The Reformed Church (Presbyterians, Lutherans, and Anglicans) desperately needs new confessions that clearly commit to: 1. No women clergy—including ruling elders, teaching pastors, deacons, or liturgical participants. 2. No membership for homosexuals. You cannot profess…
I have written this in response to Barrett’s recent post regarding his theological shift. I pray this helps others in navigating through his recent announcement. centerforbaptistleadership.org/theology-in-tr…
The best way to keep your church safe from interior threats is to preach and teach a biblical view of manhood and womanhood. Violence is prevalent when one or both of these is neglected.
One of the most quietly impactful ministries of @gracebaptist (in cooperation with @FoundersSem) is our pulpit supply ministry. Almost every Lord's Day, we have gifted brothers preaching the Word to congregations across South Florida that find themselves, for whatever reason,…
Some important conclusions from historian Everett Ferguson’s magisterial 975-page tome, Baptism in the Early Church: History, Theology, and Liturgy in the First Five Centuries (Eerdmans, 2009): Is there evidence for infant baptism exist before the second part of the second…
Since it has been claimed recently again (for the millionth time) that the early church was paedobaptist, here is an excellent recommendation by Meade. In addition to the excellent parts that Meade points out, Ferguson's work also demonstrates that even when we have documented…
This is still one of my favorite works on the history of baptism. Many are usually surprised to learn about Everett Ferguson’s conclusions… -->
Reformed paedobaptist forget that their view of baptism is the minority throughout history.
“Was believer’s baptism taught by the apostles only to disappear under the supervision of the greatest theologians of the church, and then reappear for the first time in (sic) sixteenth century?” When did the Anglican Church begin? Oh that’s right, the sixteenth century.
Stay Baptist, my friends! These two things can co-exist in Baptist life.
It seems that a lot of Christian’s base their denominational leanings, more on emotion and tradition than exegesis.
It’s almost as if they know there’s an issue, but refuse to accept it.
Peter adds, “For the promise is for you and for your children” (Acts 2:39). Why don’t they ever finish this verse?
"Public baptism...you've said the greatest moment of your life." Hogan: "Yes."
Hulk Hogan has passed away at the age of 71.
Reorient our focus on the beauty of the local church. The mega church movement has produced a generation of people who desire a more liturgical style of worship. These transfers have more to do with ideology and liturgy than theology.
What does the SBC need to do differently to stop the bleed of "high profile" departures to Anglicanism, Presbyterianism, etc? For starters, we can reclaim our Baptist identity and heritage and stop pretending to be a "non-denominational denomination" centerforbaptistleadership.org/reclaiming-bap…
