Another one of those 12 tornadoes was an EF-2 that caused significant damage and some injuries at the Woodhaven Lakes camping area near Sublette in Lee County. A day to remember for sure

Tuesday through Friday, we expect high temperatures in the 90s. Heat indices from 95F-105F+ are possible especially Wednesday and Thursday. Thunderstorms at the beginning of the week and the end of the week are possible and may affect temperature forecasts.

A watch will likely be issued for at least northwestern Illinois early this afternoon ahead of the severe weather threat this evening. Storms to develop in southern Iowa and move northeast into our area posing an all-hazards threat, especially for renewed flooding.

[12 PM 07/11] Increasing Severe Weather Threat in Northern Illinois... Areas south of US 20 have been upgraded to an "enhanced" level 3/5 risk for severe weather, mainly for damaging winds. Brief tornadoes and large hail also possible as well as renewed flash flooding.

Another round of thunderstorms is expected this afternoon into this evening. Some storms will likely be strong to severe once again. Additionally, there will be threat for flash flooding again – especially in locations that saw heavy rainfall and flooding yesterday. #ILwx #INwx

With the thunderstorms moving across northern IL continuing to weaken we have cancelled the Severe Thunderstorm Watch. Expect showers and occasional t-storms to persist through the night areawide. #ILwx #INwx

Only Severe Thunderstorm Warning on the board now is in Rock and Walworth Counties. Line pushing out of Winnebago County into Beloit. All Illinois warnings allowed to expire. Watch will be trimmed away from west to east.

Looks like a downburst signature on radar between Adeline and German Valley. Could be capable of tree/power line damage. Moving northeast into southwestern Winnebago Co. (Seward and Winnebago areas). Seek shelter inside and let these storms pass!

Getting increasingly concerned about severe wind gusts and possible tornado development north of Sterling. Moving northeast towards Polo and southwestern Ogle Co. in the next 15 minutes.

New Severe Thunderstorm Warning for all of Ogle and Lee Counties. Damaging winds remain the main threat with embedded brief tornadoes also possible along the leading edge of the line.

Line of severe storms between Quad Cities and Sterling moving northeast at 60 mph. Damaging winds and brief tornadoes possible along the line. Another cell just between Freeport and German Valley is strong, may have some hail with it, but not severe.

A line of severe storms will reach I-39 closer to 9 p.m. by my eye. Severe Thunderstorm and Tornado Warnings now just southwest of the Quad Cities. Severe T'Storm Watch remains in effect until 11 p.m. for counties along and west of I-39 in northern #ilwx and southern #wiwx

Very warm and dry conditions along with south-southwest winds gusting up to 50mph will lead to an increased threat of fire spread today, particularly where little/no rain fell on Thursday. #ILwx #INwx
