I’m so excited to have in my hands early copies of my upcoming book, A Woman Like Me. I can’t wait for you all to read it when it comes out from @PenguinUKBooks on September 19th.
This is a very real, and serious injustice. It comes at the same time as another report highlights the general deterioration in maternity-related healthcare. As usual, the sweeping reforms needed to tackle discrimination will also benefit all of society. theguardian.com/society/2025/j…
Very important to stand with migrants in these dark times
In Poplar and Limehouse, we are clear: refugees are welcome here. In the face of relentless demonisation and targeting, we continue to stand with migrants for their rights to safety and dignity. It’s the far-right and their hateful ideology that are not welcome here.

Pensioners in this country are already struggling to get by. Now the government plans to raise the retirement age even further. Old age should not be a time of misery. Liz Kendall announces review of state pension age independent.co.uk/news/uk/politi…
The horrific blockade of Gaza is illegal and almost certainly a war crime. It should have been ended a long time ago. A Labour government should not be sending arms to Israel either. Lift Gaza restrictions now, Britain tells Israel thetimes.com/world/middle-e…
Disgusting racist cartoon about @zarahsultana
Brownfacing a box of raisins and mocking my surname. Exactly what you’d expect from a right-wing hack who is the daughter of an aristocrat and ex-Tory MP.
The far right and fascists are on the march again, threatening serious violence directed at asylum- seekers. All the politicians who have demonised vulnerable people trying to exercise their lawful right to seek asylum bear responsibility for this. theguardian.com/uk-news/2025/j…
Just as the Orgreave Truth and Justice Campaign says, now is the moment to seize this opportunity. We can finally have truth and justice for the Orgreave miners.

UK billionaire wealth has more than doubled since 2010. Workers’ wages have barely risen since 2008. On Newsnight, I called for a tax on extreme wealth - that's the fairer alternative to cuts we need.
My latest piece: Starmer’s Labour, cuts to everything except the war machine "BBC, OBR claim that failing to cut disability benefits could ‘destabilise the economy’ while ignoring tens of billions on military spending that is really out of control." morningstaronline.co.uk/article/starme…

We need to be frank about why disability benefit cuts are being rushed through Parliament. It is not about genuine welfare reform but saving money, balancing the books on the backs of the sick and disabled.
Seeing things for what they are and calling them by their right name. Ex-PM Olmert says a 'humanitarian city' in the ruins of Rafah would be a concentration camp. Western governments including Britain, should be saying this too, and stop aiding Israel. theguardian.com/world/2025/jul…
Minister's argument is essentailly that there is no money left for nurses pay as all the new F-35s and nuclear weapons won't pay for themselves. Nurses consider strikes after derisory pay offer thetimes.com/uk/healthcare/…
Mark Rowley has no standing in trying to tackle violence against young Black men, and neither does the Met. Their time would be much better spent tackling racism within the institution. theguardian.com/uk-news/2025/j…
2. Many politicians and media are in denial about the all-round effects of racism in this country, and class oppression too. But those effects are real and perincious, and must be tackled. Poor and Black children more likely to die after admission to ICUs theguardian.com/society/2025/j…
