A fascinating book about brave key figures in the UK sex-realist movement, told grippingly by another brave key figure. These women deserve to have their stories widely heard. —Kathleen Stock @Docstockk, author of Material Girls: Why Reality Matters for Feminism
This week we have senior doctors lying under oath that they don’t know what sex they are or even is and the mainstream media reporting that an insane gay man accused of violently murdering his husband is actually a woman and a wife. How much longer do we have to tolerate this?
The BBC was at a different tribunal to the rest of us. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
On behalf of everyone with columns to write during the bleak, newsless, summer recess may I once again put on record our thanks to NHS Fife for all they continue to do.
We have just heard from the Chief Constable of @northumbriapol. After consideration with her lawyers, she is not appealing the ruling. Total victory is ours, @RightNUFC.
Listening to an A&E consultant Kate Searle in the Peggie v NHS Fife claim she knows she's female because "she was assigned female at birth" and then say "she's not an expert in it". Absolutely excruciating symptom of how gender ideology rots medical & scientific knowledge.
"Among those who can overcome the trauma of having the issue raised, one favored gambit is to act as if it is an unreasonable expectation for academics to know whether or not there are male women." Damning, highly entertaining. Well worth your time. philosophersmag.com/philosophical-…
Just wheeling this out again in honour of Dr Kate Searle.
‘Would you like to know the nebulous dog whistle?’
Why are we living in a world that doctors say this sort of foolishness? Are we in a dystopian alternate universe??

Two years ago, @johnmaier_ and I helped write and organise an open letter defending @Docstockk’s right to speak at the Oxford Union. It was signed by 40+ Oxford academics, including more than a dozen philosophers (the most well-represented group). bbc.com/news/uk-656205…
No-one has done more to hold régime philosophers to account than Kathleen, as is attested by the huge amount of vilification she’s had to endure Hey does anyone remember ‘non-consensual co-platforming’
Great letter! More of this please
Great from the new @NYorksPolice Chief. The former Chief refused to answer our FOIs on the basis that I was vexatious.
'I was compared to Tommy Robinson for daring to stand up for women’s spaces’: more nurses come forward to condemn the RCN over trans policies | my interview in @heraldscotland heraldscotland.com/politics/viewp…
To save confusion: news outlets aren’t prevented from explaining that this is a man. When you complain you will be told ‘this was the language of the court’. Yes: but only in direct quotes must the reporter stick to it faithfully. His male status was in the public domain.
Journalism's "one job" is to inform people. With several time constraints, often, and with only partial information. It's far from perfect. But there's no excuse for blatant lies about central facts in your story. No outlet that does this deserves to survive
The first word of the headline is a lie
The BBC has a greater responsibility than any other news outlet in the UK not to lie to its readers. It fails this duty time and time again in the full knowledge that it’s doing so, and that it doesn’t have to comply with ‘preferred pronouns’. /

The opening sentence of this BBC News story states: 'A woman killed her husband with a samurai sword stabbing and slicing him more than 50 times'. The 'woman' is actually a man bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Joanna Rowland-Stuart is a 71-year-old gay man who attacked his husband with a samurai sword "stabbing and slicing him" more than 50 times in Brighton in May 2024. ‘News outlets’ reporting this a a crime committed by a woman or wife are not worthy of that label. #NotOurCrimes
Sandie Peggie’s daughter shouldn’t have ever been put in the position of feeling she needed to clear up this spiteful and untrue bit of gossip regarding her mother and repeated in court. I’m sure she is as proud of her Mum as all right thinking people are!
Jeez do I need to go back under oath to clear this up😝 My mum is my best friend, has and always will be. Her only concern is if I’m happy🩷
They keep trying to smear Sandie Peggie as homophobic. Unfortunately for them, her lesbian daughter disagrees
JR: And homophobic comments? CM: Just told she disapproved of ppl being gay - was told unhappy bcs her daughter gay - but I don't know at all.
Here’s the thing, after all this blew up, did Upton keep on using the female nurses changing room? Does he still use the female changing room?
