Journalism's "one job" is to inform people. With several time constraints, often, and with only partial information. It's far from perfect. But there's no excuse for blatant lies about central facts in your story. No outlet that does this deserves to survive

Consider that if Sandy Peggie hadn't had support from @JNHanvey (who wasn't actually her MP but helped her because the hospital was in his constituency) then she would probably been sacked - and none of this pantomime would have come to light. It's honestly chilling.
