The Fully Fund Our Future Act, #HB177, brings Texas schools into the national average in per student funding. For too long our neighborhood schools have had to go without & Texas teachers have been underpaid. The bill gives #TxEd teachers a much-deserved 15K teacher pay raise.

Answer this question, East Coast Carney: When was the last time a statewide candidate was successfully after abandoning Texas Public Schools?

Y’all know how much I despise the STAAR test …written at a higher grade level/sets up kids to fail, on-line only, requires 8+yr olds to type answers, graded by AI (faulty scoring, can appeal but costs $). But replacing w 3x/yr tests written by same test co and TEA? No thanks.

Don’t be fooled. Governor Abbott wants to replace 1 STAAR test with THREE high-stakes tests PER YEAR created & manipulated by his commissioner. This scheme should never see the light of day. We will never be truly free of the testing insanity as long as Gov. Abbott is governor.

A superintendent just shared with me that 17 percent of their 3-10 STAAR READING SCORES scores improved after they paid TEA 50 dollars per test to have a human being review the software generated grades (54 out of 310 resubmissions increased).
