The Te Deum is way better praise music than anything a non-denom could ever hope to write.
Lutherans complaining about modern church music invading your youth. You are the church of Bach...instead of complaining...WRITE BETTER PRAISE MUSIC THAN THE NONDENOMS.
How I wish everyone who trashes Lutheran music could join us at the Making the Case Conference for the hymn sing, to get a feel of what Lutheran music is REALLY capable of sounding like.
As much as I agree with this, I want to add… I grew up in a church that had robust liturgy, but it was all performance. There was a lot of “participation,” and no belief that it was true or transformative Liturgics mean nothing without correct, faithful teaching informing them
When a church does not have a robust liturgy, those who suffer the most are the children. They conclude that church is a performance on stage they watch, not a gospel they *participate* in. It's a matter of time before they grow up disenchanted with Christianity.
Teaching the hymns in our hymnal is NOT hard. It takes a strong voice, and confidence in the truth of what we are singing. The more modal hymns (many of Luther’s) are a challenge, but they become quite beloved. Pastors, do NOT deprive your people of their spiritual patrimony.
Notice he avoided citing "Pray for us now and at the hour of our death." Almost like that was added in later after Trent. The heart of the part he does cite is Scripture. The heart of the addition is corrupting the message into Mary-centered worship over Christ.
“God takes water and joins it with His Word… and daily we live in that Baptism!” “Jesus comes to us—He unites with that Bread and that Wine!” “Jesus endured the Cross, and He endures us. Let us rest in Him.” @Flame314 sharing THE Good News! Thank you, brother!

Moses, Isaiah and John all got to see glimpses of the heavenly worship, Ex.24:15, Isaiah 6:1, Rev.1:10 These rays of the divine liturgy, esp. as seen in Revelation, ought to give us zeal that our worship may mirror theirs. On earth as it is in heaven. Lutheran Cathedral Liepāja
Memorialists are the real radicals, no support from Scripture, zero backing from 1,500 years of church history, and yet they call us extreme for believing Christ meant what He said.
I love that Mary, after sitting at our Lord’s feet and hearing His word, did the beautiful work of anointing Him for His burial. I think she might have been one of the few who listened and understood that He was about to die and be raised again.
“I get all that if I become Lutheran?” No, you’ve already got it. Christ just is. He doesn’t change based on what you believe. He isn’t like us. He just is. Baptism just is. The Sacrament just is. The Word just is. The bonus of right belief is holy comfort, joy in the…
Coolest things about being a confessional Lutheran: 1. 100% solid Biblical Doctrine, with a decided accent on the Gospel. 2. Hands down best hymnody of Christendom. 3. The beauty of the Western Rite, but cleansed of anything that obscured the Gospel.
Me: the weather is nice today Comments: “Just become Catholic already” “Did your lesbian pastrix tell you that?” “You are JEWISH” “Bro got destroyed by *insert apologist*”
