This is thoughtful. The thing that struck me as a mitigating factor for Lutheranism is our tradition. The BoC, Luther, Gerhard, and others, have created a body of teaching that is stable because they are dead. We aren’t as susceptible to the cult of personality for that reason.

Not everyone can be Melanchthon handsome.
