Urgent policy reform is needed for disabled welfare claimants - King's Alumni Community alumni.kcl.ac.uk/blog/urgent-po… … @kclalumni
It’s finally here. We will build our party together. But into what, how and for what purpose? I discussed that all with @Oliver_Eagleton. newleftreview.org/sidecar/posts/…
“The media is obsessed with it being called Your Party." "That's fine, it's more coverage of the fact we're creating a democratic party." @schneiderhome says 200,000 people have signed up for Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultana's new venture.
Don’t know if this helps or not, but my non verbal son has juat transferred. He gets £100/month more now than before (ESA). The transition was quick and easy. He had to attend one face to face (Saturday appt so easier for him) and everything ran smoothly
You're guaranteed to not receive less money if you're migrating from ESA (it's called transitional protection) . You're good to open the letter. You may even find your award increases.💚
Doctors play a vital role at key moments in our lives. They care for us. They cure us. They do not take the decision to strike lightly. They are striking for an extra £4 per hour for first year doctors with £100,000 student debt. The government needs to move on this. Solidarity
Northern doctors sent a clear message today that no doctor is worth less than a doctor in 2008 The power to end these strikes lies squarely with @wesstreeting - he must make a meaningful offer to reverse our pay erosion and continue the journey to fair pay #DoctorsStrike
I’ve been advised to take my case against the DWP to the Independent Case Examiner if there is still no resolution. I had not heard of this. I note it looks at redress for maladministration. Does anyone here have experience of this route?
I don't know who told you this... But it looks to me like this is the route they are recommending gov.uk/government/pub…
During Zoom DWP called - ‘It’s Universal Credit here. Are you ok?’‘no I am not ok. With all that I’ve had to deal with from the DWP I am NOT ok. I can’t talk now as I am in group therapy on Zoom.’ I rang off. The therapist said I went white. It was apparently a ‘welfare call.
🔥 The basic rate of Universal Credit is JUST £92 a week. It isn't enough to cover the cost of the essentials and people are having to turn to food banks to get by. This isn’t right. Everyone should have enough money in their pockets to live with dignity. 💚

State pension age could rise to 74 amid warning of UK 'tsunami of OAP poverty'. Male life expectancy in poorer areas such as Blackpool is 73 years. What is planned? Inequitable distribution of income prevent people from saving. Govts won't address it mirror.co.uk/news/politics/…
The pension age of 67, proposed for next year, is too high especially for those in manual jobs. 74 would be ludicrous. Many would never see retirement and sickness benefit claims would rocket. Anyone with any sense can see this...so what is their game?

This Motability campaign is not really about fraud or abuse of the scheme (although they pretend it is), but about the level of support disabled people receive from the state. Those behind this campaign are proponents of "small government" (free markets, reduced spending, etc...)
