The results are in: we have a clear mandate to strike. More than 90% of you who voted in our ballot, voted YES. You’ve made it clear: enough is enough. Our fight for full #PayRestoration for resident doctors in England continues.
This is why Resident doctors in England are taking a stand against the Government - it’s time to pay us what we're worth. Support us on the picket lines 📢 25 to 30 July #PayRestoration #DoctorsStrike bma.org.uk/residentspay
There’s always a tweet…
Now we know why Rishi Sunak refuses to negotiate with NHS staff. He wants the strikes to go ahead, so he can blame doctors and nurses for his failure. #PMQs
I'll be joining other resident doctors on the picket this Friday at the BRI. No other professional in any industry gets paid less than their assistants except doctors. Doctors know their worth. See you on the picket!
Below are the upcoming pickets in Severn. Bristol Royal Infirmary Friday 25th July at 9 am – 11.30 am Callington Road Hospital Monday 28th July at 9 am – 11 am Doctors, show the government your worth by attending the picket line. Together we are stronger.

Despite all the noise about student loans, Mr Streeting didn’t seriously raise it once in the negotiating room. Instead, he chose to brief the media. He could prevent these strikes today by paying doctors £22.67/hr. share.google/Lich7R7i6mwowq…
28.9% pay uplift seems like a big number, but when you take that into pounds per hour, it represents an extra 4£/hr split over 3 years without taking into account inflation, an extra 1.3£/hr a year. See my comment on the guardian below 👇 theguardian.com/society/2025/j…

It's always weird to see these bizarre claims that the committee is "hard left" or "corbynistas". This is a wave of young people aged typically between 23-35 who see Broken Britain for what it is. Raising rent, raising house prices, raising energy prices, raising leisure…
Most people talk about building software that changes healthcare. Few actually do it. I have room for ONE founder ready to build a real website, app, or AI agent and get it in front of real users. If you’re serious, DM me. Sky’s the limit. But the seat won’t last.
The government have the power and responsibility to stop these strikes by negotiating pay. Most doctors would rather not strike at all, it's a last resort, but if the strikes go ahead, the government is to blame.
“Our committee is on standby to consider any credible proposals you make.” Co-chairs @Melissa_S_Ryan and @RossNieuwoudt have written to @wesstreeting saying there is still time to present a credible offer and call off the strike.

With the resident doctor’s strike coming up, doctors might be wondering how their action brings the government to the table. This graphic explains ⬇️ On a strike day, do not locum. You will be directly impacting yourselves & your colleagues. #DoctorsStrike
Apparently no money to pay doctors £22.67/hr. But £1,300,000,000 to pay management consultants. Now we know where the money is going @Wesstreeting.
£17 - current doctor starting rate £23 - what doctors are campaigning for £29 - what an MP earns per hour Part of Labour's objection is that only 55% of doctors voted, even though it was a 90% vote to strike If Labour are upset at 90% of a 55% turnout, then wait till Labour…
It was an honour to have spoken on on the motion opposing Palantir’s NHS FDP. The FDP comprimises patients due to their unethical background and unproven track record, and pts will no longer trust us, compromising care. @TheBMA will now lobby nationally against this contract.
#BMAARM2025 Motion to cancel Palantir’s NHS Federated Data Platform PASSED ✅ Proposed by BIDA EC member @FareedAlQusous The BMA will now lobby govt to scrap the contract, citing threats to trust, transparency & human rights, and calling for public, safe, ethical alternatives.

Doctors can be rest assured that criticising the Israeli government for crimes isn't the same as being antisemitic, that is hate speech and should always be challenged. Doctors have been wrongfully prosecuted, and this should offer them some protection.
Great news from the British Medical Association’s annual conference. It is now BMA policy that condemning Israel is not antisemitic per se, that students and medics should be able to advocate for Palestine without harassment by universities and trusts, and condemns اsraeا for…
