Unfortunately, criminals will often try to take advantage of disaster survivors while they begin their recovery. To protect yourself from scams or fraud, don't trust anyone who asks for money. Federal agencies will never charge applicants for assistance, grants, or inspections.
Don't forget - In Washington we have access to the @USGS_ShakeAlert earthquake early warning system, which can provide seconds of warning before earthquake shaking arrives at your location! Learn more about how to enable this free system on your phone at mil.wa.gov/alerts!
