A Song Thursh yesterday in our garden in Yardley B25 bashing &dropping a snail to retrieve the edible part from the shell. S Thrush's are rare in our garden so I assume the current dry spell and lack of earth worms is driving this behaviour @EcoRecording @Team4Nature
Happy Black Country Day! Have you spotted this 'Black-Country' coloured moth this year? If so please let us know!

Some Black Redstart images from last year at various sites in Birmingham City Centre. The city centre seems to be alive with them this year, but getting distant views can take time. But after the gulls, they seem to be the noisiest birds around😀. @WestMidBirdClub
Happy Flying Ant Day to all who celebrate - and you should! Not really a day, but a short period of time each year in which ants grow wings and take flight in search of mates. And it's GREAT because ants are crucial for soil health, seed dispersal, nutrient cycling & lots more!
3 Little Egret on the Mill Pond at Hill Hook NR this morning - been two present since late June but now joined by a third. Also Grey Heron, Emperor dragonfly and Little Grebe calling unseen. Still no Tufted Duck broods 😢 @EcoRecording
