Life list: 247 species (latest: Roseate Tern); 2025 list: 203 species (latest: Tundra Bean Goose)
A Common Gull (South Lake), Green Sandpiper (Tack Piece; must have been 20+ around the reserve) and Spotted Redshank (Rushy) from last weeks visit to @WWTSlimbridge. @slimbridge_wild #GlosBirds

Spent some time at South Lake, checking each and every Greylag Goose to see if it was the single Tundra Bean Goose. Then someone said it was on the Eider Pond. A few minutes later we found it chilling. Maybe dodgy, but great to see. @slimbridge_wild #glosbirds

Some images from a recent trip to @ladywalk_nr. Whitethroat and Song Thrush. @WestMidBirdClub

Some images of Sandwich Terns from a recent visit to Cemlyn Bay, Anglesey. There was a constant movement of Sandwich, Arctic and Common Terns flying out to sea to catch Sand Eels. #birdphotography #birdwatching #Anglesey

3 x turnstone feeding on the estuary seen from Shepherds Hut and Middlepoint @slimbridge_wild #glosbirds
Hopefully this is a Roseate Tern. It has an all black bill and orange/red legs. I've uploaded a video of the same bird as well. Hopefully X allows half decent quality. #birdphotography #birdwatching #anglesey

What I assume is an Arctic Tern and a juvenile Common Tern. The Arctic Tern ignored this begging juvenile as it landed on the beach at Cemlyn Bay. #birdphotography #birdwatching #anglesey

Some images from Saturday's trip to Anglesey. Sandwich Tern, Red Kite, Black Guillemot and Meadow Pipit. Sites visited included Holyhead Harbour, Wylfa and Cemlyn Bay. #birdphotography #birdwatching #anglesey

Some images from a 2014 trip to Nairobi National Park. We waited an hour for these female lions to move from cover, but we were rewarded with them crossing in front of the vehicle as they wandered into the savannah.

Some more images of last years (2024) Black Redstarts in and around Birmingham city centre. @WestMidBirdClub

My biggest birding highlight ever! Minding my own business at Harborne Reserve in February 2025 a little bird landed in some trees in front of me. Not quite believing what I was seeing, I just took photo after photo. A beautiful Lesser Spotted Woodpecker! @WestMidBirdClub

Some Black Redstart images from last year at various sites in Birmingham City Centre. The city centre seems to be alive with them this year, but getting distant views can take time. But after the gulls, they seem to be the noisiest birds around😀. @WestMidBirdClub

Great to see this Whinchat @RSPBSandwell today (from the screen next to the hide). A great finish to a busy day on Forge Mill Lake (including Common Terns, Common and Green Sandpipers, Little Ringed Plovers and a very showy Sparrowhawk). @WestMidBirdClub @RSPBbirders

A typical day for the Little Ringed Plovers @RSPBSandwell. @WestMidBirdClub

Some juvenile Redstart images with a female Redstart thrown in. Amazing views in the New Forest. I'm used to 1 or 2 showing up at Sandwell Valley, but seeing 20 plus was great.

Some Little Tern images from the South Coast taken earlier this month. Amazing to see them hovering metres away from me, searching for their next target in the water. Plenty of Common Terns and Sandwich Terns around as well.

The dark side of birding and wildlife photography. The main predator at Normandy Marshes seemed to be the local Great black-backed gulls. I'm assuming that the prey was a Black-headed gull chick.

Some distant Dartford Warbler images from a recent visit to the south of England. Lifer for me, often heard, difficult to see, but managed to get these images of two individuals.

Highlights from a walk around Birmingham City Centre; Moorhen, Blue Tit, juvenile Wren and a Black Redstart. @WestMidBirdClub

Wren, Med Gull, Swift and Cattle Egret images from Sunday's trip to @WWTSlimbridge. Saw the Bluethroat (at last!). Great to see a number of Cattle Egrets land onto South Lake. @slimbridge_wild #GlosBirds
