A bit of 🏃 around the Clent hills. Love to walk the hills and mountains. Often using bins and a scope. No camera, all bad photos taken through a scope.

I seem to be doing well for butterflies and day flying moths this year. Several Painted Ladies and Hummingbird Hawk-moth seen so far. This one on lavender. @BC_WestMids @EcoRecording

Early morning visit to @RSPBMiddleton. Nothing unusual other than a Green Sandpiper flushed from the mud under the bird feeders near the car park. Decent number of juvenile LRP at all stages from just hatched to fledged. Also at least three very young Lapwing and solitary Hare.

Marble White in my B17 kitchen. Very unusual this close to Bham city centre. I thought the closest colony was at the Clent hills @EcoRecording @BC_WestMids

Hummingbird Hawk-moth and Painted Lady in B17 garden. Both too quick to photograph. @EcoRecording @BC_WestMids

I seem to be seeing Small Tortoiseshell everywhere this year. Hopefully, they are faring better than previous years. This one @RSPBMiddleton @BC_WestMids

Bluethroat showed well this morning @slimbridge_wild . Also 3 Cattle Egret and a vocal Cuckoo on TNP. Otherwise quiet. #GlosBirds

Early morning Wyre Forest. Brilliant 30 mins with this fella. Sadly, his behaviour made me think he hadn’t paired. Also Redstart, Pied & Spot fly, Tree Pip, Cuckoo heard. No LSW or Dipper or Marsh Tit.
Little Stint and Sanderling still at Bartley Reservoir on east shore. Viewed distantly from Scotland Lane picnic area. Thanks to finder.
Great Egret from Zeiss hide also Cuckoo flying around calling. @slimbridge_wild #GlosBirds
