I’m gonna delete this app off my phone for a bit. My MH is taking a beating. The hate is unreal and it’s being pumped into my TL by an algorithm that rewards outrage. I don’t need to get my news this way. I’ll get some slow, considered, thoughtful news elsewhere.

The hard-right panel-mob is right about one thing: There is "two-tier" justice in the UK. Compare the reaction to kids throwing powder at a cricket pitch or the five-year sentences for climbing a fkn bridge. Why is THAT anger not "understandable" and THOSE concerns "legitimate"?

The UK far right was at its absolute worst in the late 70s / early 80s when net migration was often negative (I.e. we had more people leaving than arriving). It's a complete fantasy to imagine a change in annual numbers would stop racism/hate.
