100s of UK final year medical students have received ‘placeholder’ allocations and are anxiously waiting on their foundation programme job details. This uncertainty is putting unfair pressure on our future NHS workforce. We’ve written to the @wesstreeting for action @BBCBreakfast
@BMAstudents have been flagging this issue all year & here we are again with 700 new doctors unable to plan their lives, with jobs starting in just a few months. This, & frankly all systems in place relating to medical recruitment/training are broken & need fixing yesterday!

The @EMRJDC will keep up the pressure to ensure foundation posts are assigned promptly. To all graduates, I am sorry the system has failed you so and I sympathise with the uncertainty of your situation. Hospital trusts must step up to create the needed posts with haste.
I spoke to @bbcemt for @TheBMA @BMAstudents about the almost 700 final year medical students who have not been given a job yet. Disappointingly @DHSCgovuk @wesstreeting have declined to comment, they must now act to get these incoming doctors their foundation job details.
Yet another medical recruitment and examination disaster causing widespread chaos and dismay! Apparently, this was caused by using a single component score rather than the final scores to give offers. How have even the most basic quality assurance checks been bungled?
Doctors received offers for Radiology training posts at around 3-4pm. They were able to accept these offers on Oriel and received confirmation of acceptance. Offers then began to disappear on Oriel. At 6:30pm they received this email. Simply unacceptable.
Another day, another @NHSE_WTE disaster. Today, Radiology. Doctors’ jobs in the lurch due to NHSE failure. It needs fixed immediately: 1️⃣ All offers need guaranteeing 2️⃣ Jobs for anyone who scored highly enough 3️⃣ A public investigation - no of drs, how & plan to prevent again
