A reminder for all incoming FY1s in England – if you’re scheduled to attend induction or shadowing during strike action, please make sure you attend. If not, you’re welcome to show your support on the picket lines! bma.org.uk/our-campaigns/… #PayRestoration @BMAstudents
Errors, contractual breaches… Being a placeholder is a pitiful introduction to the NHS. The BMA has had to exert significant pressure on DHSC and NHS to resolve this. This can't happen again. No more doctors should get their job details with less than 12 weeks’ notice.

Incoming FY1s may have inductions scheduled during industrial action. These doctors aren't included in this dispute and cannot take part in industrial action. The BMA encourages you to take part in your induction. Guidance for industrial action in England: bma.org.uk/our-campaigns/…

The foundation programme exemplifies the significant failings in UK postgraduate medical recruitment and the lack of accountability for the constant errors. Read more in mine and @Elgan_MR OpEd in the @bmj_latest. @BMAstudents @TheBMA bmj.com/content/390/bm…
Incoming FY1s - your induction/shadowing to become a Dr are important, and your union @TheBMA know this. The message is simple: attend your induction/shadowing! (And fill out this to get ballot ready to join strikes when needed in the future: forms.office.com/e/WazxKAr4kK)
Following yesterday’s strike ballot result, we met with @wesstreeting It’s clear: the Government is refusing to negotiate on pay. We are now preparing for a full 5 day walk-out, beginning on Friday 25 July. Our door will always be open to constructive talks. #PayRestoration
BMA Medical Students Committee responds to the government’s ‘10-year health plan for England’ Read below 👇

Five weeks until new F1s start, and yet there are still new doctors who do not know where in the country they will be working. Yet another failure by @NHSE_WTE @wesstreeting @DHSCgovuk
This year, 700 doctors found out their job details late - with hundreds having their contractual right to 8 weeks notice broken. Many are still waiting to find out where they'll be working. This must change, and it’s the government’s responsibility to ensure it does.
