Today, I re-filed Jaime’s Law in honor of 14 year old Jaime Guttenberg, who tragically lost her life in the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas. Jaime’s Law seeks to close the ammo loophole by requiring background checks on ammunition purchases.

Just toured “Alligator Alcatraz.” Let me be clear: this is a costly political stunt. The unelected Attorney General and his allies have spent - and will continue to spend - millions of taxpayer dollars to stage a spectacle to impress the Trump admin, not solve any real issues.
As a former emergency management director, I’ve been alarmed by how Sec. Noem has handled the tragic flooding in Texas. I’m calling for an investigation into reports of FEMA’s delayed response. Congress has to get answers, strengthen emergency management, and protect the public.
