Over $200 million in taxpayer dollars have been committed to private companies in no bid contracts to build this depraved detention camp in the Everglades. Just one politically connected vendor got a $78 million contract.

Mixing military roles with law enforcement is wrong—doing so erodes the principles of a free and democratic society.

James Uthmeier, Fla.'s appointed attorney general, is spending taxpayer money on $875/hr lawyers (+ expenses) in a case where the judge found him in contempt of court. He's using the same firm the DeSantis administration hired to defend its Everglades immigration detention camp.

This is a really disturbing. A person detained in the Everglades was handcuffed and left outdoors in the sun as punishment for attempting to go on a hunger strike. As mosquitoes swarmed him, he pleaded with guards to bring him inside and was kept outside for nearly three hours.

Nope. People DO NOT like this Trump/DeSantis cruel extremism. They’re worried about their own lives, and this meanness is turning them off.

They passed their bill to facilitate the greatest transfer of wealth from the working class to the ultra wealthy + mega corporations in our nations history. Then they got rewarded.

But the state is spending money to detain these noncitizens, as a state legislator she has a right to know how the money is being spent.

Still no full contracts being posted by FDEM, but we do see that $18,195 was spent on "Tire replacement Tiger Dam trailers" for OVS which stands for "Operation Vigilant Sentry." Tiger Dams are flood barriers: usfloodcontrol.com/flood-barriers/ Looks like there is a flood problem at AA.

NEW: Detainees in Florida immigration detention centers are being subjected to inhuman conditions, including denial of medical care, overcrowding, and degrading treatment. These are not isolated incidents, but the result of a fundamentally broken system. trib.al/40H5BtR

Just goes to show you all of this was strictly performative from DeSantis!

This makes sense because we still have not seen what the hurricane evacuation plan is and the site is absolutely vulnerable to a lawsuit, starting with the Emergency Order abused by the governor to commandeer the site and steer no-bid contracts to politically connected vendors.

No one watching that video can justify what happened. A Black man with his hands up, and he still got punched in the face. We deserve answers, transparency, and accountability. Jacksonville, nor should anyone, look away.
