This "arrest" sequence from Kafka's #TheTrial has epitomized #DueProcess violations for 100+ years. Sadly, it reads *just like* a 2025 encounter between @TSA & travelers w/ cash or various law-enforcement agencies (@DEAHQ, @CBP, etc.) conducting interdiction for #CivilForfeiture
"After all, [Joseph] K. lived in a state governed by #law, there was universal peace, all statutes were in force; who dared assault him in his own lodgings?" #Kafka #TheTrial

Biggest win for Team USA 🇺🇸 against Russia 🇷🇺 as unranked Dean Hamiti PINS #5 in the world Nasirkhaev. You can see the David Taylor influence in Hamiti’s style as he uses his length and dynamic movement to navigate positions and wear his opponent out. With Hamiti being 3rd on…
As the Soviet Union was collapsing, Metallica and Pantera held a free concert in Moscow. Over 500,000 Russians attended. They were welcomed as Gods, symbolizing their newfound freedom. Metal is extremely American. Shut the fuck up.
My parents didn’t let us listen to Metal. Was devil worshipping music. Hard to see how they were wrong. Pantera used pentagrams. Even if “ironic,” or “art,” it’s demonic symbolism. Later in life I tried. Couldn’t stomach it. Made me physically ill. It’s the sound of demons.
NASHVILLE JUST PASSED 6-STORY SINGLE-STAIR REFORM! Nashville officially becomes the third-largest city to legalize single-stair apartment buildings up to six stories, outdoing Austin who recently passed a 5-story code update passed earlier this year. LET'S FREAKIN GO NASHVILLE
A friend of mine in LA had his ADU permit denied because of a NIMBY neighbor. Total insanity in a city with a severe housing shortage NIMBYism needs to be completely destroyed so you can actually afford housing I'm now an advisor for @yimbyaction & will share more
You're telling me the same state that collects baby DNA without parental consent and has no safeguards for how it can be used also has a secret police DNA database?? I'm shocked. newjerseymonitor.com/2025/07/23/nj-…
Legislative Victory! Last week, #NewHampshire enacted 2 new bills. #HB457 and #HB577 will prevent local municipalities from restricting bedrooms to 2 or fewer occupants + allow an accessory dwelling unit for houses. 🧵
Law enforcement cannot try to forfeit your property without telling you what crimes they think support forfeiting your property. Yesterday, the Marion County Superior Court approved the Chengs’ suit as a class action. Stay tuned. ij.org/case/indiana-p…
At the nation’s 2nd largest FedEx hub, near Indianapolis airport, police routinely pull parcels from conveyor belts and run them past K-9s. If a dog alerts and officers find cash, Indiana prosecutors try to keep the money through #CivilForfeiture. 🧵 ij.org/press-release/…
You can read the 8th Cir.'s decision in Mohamud v. Weyker below. The task force problem is not going away. People like Heather Weyker must be held accountable, and @IJ is going to see to it that they are. 5/ ecf.ca8.uscourts.gov/opndir/25/07/2…
This is a terrible injustice and illustrates the Constitution-free zone our courts have erected around anyone who even smells federal. Heather Weyker is one of the greatest villains I have come across in my work. This fight is not over. 4/ ij.org/case/task-forc…
Back in 2020, the 8th Cir. held that Weyker could not be sued under federal color because Bivens is effectively dead. Since Hamdi's case was not "exactly" like Bivens, she had no claim. But don't worry! The 8th Cir. said Hamdi might be able to sue Weyker under Section 1983. 2/
A riddle: If you were framed, spent 2 yrs in jail, got out, got lawyers, sued the person who framed you, and litigated for yrs only to be told repeatedly, “there’s just no way to hold the person who framed you accountable,” then where does the person who framed you probably work?
In 2011 Heather Weyker, a St. Paul cop deputized as a federal marshal, framed @IJ client Hamdi Mohamud. After 2 years in prison, Mohamud sued Weyker for violating the Constitution under state and federal color. Today, the 8th Cir. holds that Weyker can be sued under neither. 1/
Marcus Coleman (USA) hits a massive takedown in the final 10 seconds to defeat No. 19 Amanula Rasulov (RUS) at 86 kg at PWL 9! 🇺🇸🔥
You would fail a college student if they wrote this on an exam and yet the NYT publishes it as if it’s insightful

What STARTED as a picnic with fajitas 🌮…ended with a historic Texas size 🤠 win for housing in Texas 🏡 Minor correction- I’m a Texan now ! VERY grateful for the broad coalition of lawmakers + orgs that came together this session—that was the key to our success 🏆…
If only there were some way to increase the supply of homes.
Housing is expensive in SF and NYC because there's a massive demand for it.
One of my favourite little details is that “Star Trek” includes that distinctively lighting in part because NBC was owned by RCA, a company that made colour television sets, and so was encouraged to add colour where it could on otherwise grey sets.
Something i will forever love about Star Trek is the use of color within the set and shots.. its honestly one of the many reasons i even watch the series as a whole 🥹
