I want landlords to wish we'd frozen rents because they have to keep dropping them
We're talking with residents each week for DC 2050 and sharing some questions we're getting. Have a question of your own? Put it in the comments or email us at [email protected].
Building dense housing in cities is good, actually
If you were going to go on the "one guy who's kind of decent at arguing debates 20 morons" show, what point would you argue with the morons?
So good seeing all our YIMBYs last night! We didn't get a picture of the crowd, but here are a couple of our leads updating everyone on our current projects and how they can help. It was extremely patriotic and everybody clapped.

It's not even 1 and I already need a drink. Hope to see you all there!

The stadium seating model of housing: - rich fans move in and want more VIP skyboxes - NIMBYs block it: "skyboxes are not affordable" - rich fans instead get lower-bowl seats - this pushes middle-income fans to the bleachers - now low-income fans can't afford any seats 1/
Jealous? Read our post about all the vacant ANCs in DC and how you can run for them!
Currently, there are 17 ANC vacancies across the city. They're all listed below, but I want to highlight a few that YIMBYs might be interested in filling. If that's you, we can help! Reach out on here or via the contact info on our website.
This is spot-on. Housing + Metro > Parking garages The RFK site should be a vibrant neighborhood every day of the year, not empty garages 97% of the time.
8,000 spots in towering parking garages? That’s a fumble. A brand-new Metro station? Touchdown! Hear all about it from CM @charlesallen: (1/3)
It's gonna be kind of a miserable weekend, but Monday is looking kinda nice! Join us to talk to fellow YIMBYs and learn how you can get involved!

Big news: Chicago City Council has voted to eliminate parking minumums adjacent to transit! Huge win for housing and transit!

Interesting to compare different parts of DC
LA is the only other American city that even gets close. Can’t get these numbers even in Chicago. LA really should be a city of 30+ million
Swap DC and NYC and this is perfect
City tiers (objective) 1) NYC 2) Chicago, DC 3) SF, Seattle, Philly 4) Pittsburgh, LA, Boston, Portland, Denver, Baltimore 5) Minneapolis, Miami, Detroit, San Diego, Cincinnati, Austin 6) Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Phoenix 7) Other cities
