π¨NEW @IJ CASEπ¨ On Christmas Eve 2022, Jennifer Heath Box was arrested while getting off a cruise ship. But cops ignored obvious evidence they were arresting the wrong person. Still, she spent 3 days in jail and missed Christmas with her kids. Today, we suedπ§΅

So, the Jones Act "protects" an industry that basically doesn't exist, makes shipping from U.S. port to U.S. port more expensive, and slows our ability to get aid to Americans when disasters hit. Cool!
At what point does protectionism for an industry that basically does not exist but imposes massive costs on others become politically unsustainable? We haven't hit it yet, apparently! (From @EBGresser)
Ah, so that's what the money Josh Harris has been saving by keeping the Sixers under the luxury tax has gone toward. Sell the Sixers, Josh.

Iβll say it once again β in reality, Ukraine as a state and as a nation is fighting two major wars at the same time. The first is, of course, Russiaβs full-scale invasion. The second is the internal war of Ukrainian civil society against the dark side of its own state. Againstβ¦
