It makes no strategic sense whatsoever for @TfL NOT to lobby the @GOVUK for powers to cap PHV numbers. In fact, those at @TfLTPH don’t even have a coherent argument against it. It’s also contradicts the reasoning used by the @cityoflondon when they decided to restrict taxis.
"Can You Just Hold The Mop?"
If you think this should all stop and everyone should be able to access their bus directly to and from the kerb then write to your MP.
This is regarded by the cycle lobby as a flagship scheme. They have taken dozens of politicians to show them what a great thing the Waltham Forest mini-Holland scheme is. They spent more than £30m and destroyed the bus services to this part of east London and beyond.
The pause on floating bus stops by @LordPeterHendy @simonlightwood is for shared use bus borders as shown in the video, where passengers board & alight the bus directly from & into the cycle lane. This pause needs to be made permanent, along with all types of floating bus stops.
A coach tried to go under the Strand underpass ….. Obviously did not fit …. Poor driving
The government’s SoS for transport, @heidialexander, thinks it’s somehow OK to favour un-evidenced notions of cycle safety & getting more people cycling at the expense of bus passengers. Some of whom are blind and can longer catch their bus! This is intolerable Write to your MP.

This design should never have got through planning process and the pause should be made permanent please @simonlightwood @LordPeterHendy.

The speed at some of the cyclists on the pavement is shocking …. Railing to give way to vulnerable pedestrians who are top of the hierarchy… We must do better
.@TfL @MayorofLondon so many concerns raised about floating bus stops in Colliers Wood last week when @Siobhain_Mc met with concerned residents. They are not working. Bus passengers need to access the bus direct from the pavement, without having to cross a cycle lane first.
‘TfL is not now rolling out shared use bus boarders at this point in time’ stated by Lead Sponsor of TfL Investment Planning Directorate who oversees delivery of cycling investment. This pause however should include all floating bus stops. 4th July outside Colliers Wood Station.
We were told two years ago there was a contractural requirement to park these in bays. Riders would be fined or banned. @metecoban92 @SarahWoodberryD @carowoodley @RichardLufkin
In light of the Transport Secretary's pledge to address the loopholes in taxi and private hire licensing, it's hardly surprising that the taxi trade finds the notion of acting "at pace" utterly ludicrous. Concerns about these dangers have been raised numerous times over the…
A London rickshaw tries charging a couple £90 for a 2 minute journey
At the recent @CityWestminster Full Council, the Cabinet Member for Streets boasted that under Labour, 90% of all #ebike rides end in a designated bay. But what use is this statistic when THIS is what a typical bay looks like? How are pedestrians with limited mobility or visual…
