Parks, planning, transport, parking, gardening. I wanna live in a park. Not a car park. @CPRELondon @HSScorecard @GoParksLondon. Views my own.
NO @UKLabour @Keir_Starmer... ... THIS is the grey belt!!!! Virtually every town in this country has tonnes of space for housing. Right in the town centre! Completely wasted surface car park space. Grrrr
What is grey belt land and why does @Keir_Starmer want to build on it? 🤔👇

What is a legal e-bike? 🚲 ⬇️ If it doesn't meet these criteria, it's a Motorised Pedal bike (Moped) i.e. a motorbike 🛵... and needs a licence plate, driving licence to drive, etc.
To put this into context, since 2016, 30 people have been killed in collisions involving cyclists. In that time over 17,000 have been killed in collisions involving drivers. I don't have a problem with the new law, but let's not think this will reduce deaths on our roads.
Oh dear all that about 4 million missing houses again! Problem is is that its based on a work of fiction. cornwallecon.com/post/the-housi…
Just watched a TikTok video about the Elephant and Castle station redevelopment. 485 new homes will be build above. 172 will be ‘affordable’ and only 3 will be social housing. 3! Need to look into it but that’s wild if true.

The term ‘affordable homes’ does a lot of heavy lifting. 17,400 - ‘the number of affordable homes funded through Section 106 agreements with detailed planning consent that had no buyer in October 2024…’ Out of 27k - 44% of affordable homes delivered in 2023-24 From @NAOorguk.
Impressive work @EllyBakerAM @CarolineRussell 👏👏👏 The failure to regulate unnecessary and dangerous SUVs at a national and international level is leaving city leaders with little choice but to take a stand and do all they can to end #carspreading on our streets. @cities_clean
With 1.3 million people on housing waiting lists we desperately need to build more social housing - but instead this government is giving carte blanche to developers to bulldoze communities and nature for expensive housing. Another betrayal from this Labour govt.
Will the government sell us out to big developers? Or will they restore Britain's social housing so that we all have a place to call home?
I urge the Government to back my Planning & Infrastructure Bill amendments. We were promised a win-win for nature and growth - we got a developer’s charter that will destroy nature. Let’s change course and deliver for workers and wildlife. theguardian.com/politics/2025/…
Yes, the point is they can’t take their houses with them. It’s not capital flight when the capital has four walls, a roof and central heating. It’s flying nowhere.
“If you bash landlords, they will leave.” The government has “got it wrong” by going after landlords, as many leave the private rental market for Airbnb, says @KirstieMAllsopp.
London Fields west entrance @limebike customers have parked multiple bikes illegally over a zebra crossing. Lime have a contract with @hackneycouncil to ensure users park bikes in designated parking areas to keep pavements safe and accessible. Sort it out. CC: @SarahWoodberryD
New proposals on Biodiversity Net Gain from UK Government will harm whole communities. 🚨 Weaker rules for small and medium developments = big damage to wildlife and our natural world. 📉 Nature can't afford this. Read more 👉 wildlifetrusts.org/news/governmen…
The warning couldn’t be clearer. ⚠️ Slashing the nature-friendly farming budget would be catastrophic for the nature and climate crisis, and for our long-term food security. What's more, it would leave the UK Government’s credibility on climate and nature in tatters.
Build more and prices will drop for everyone, say the Yimbys. But look - placemaking resulted in luxury flats, unaffordable ‘affordable’ and a handful of social homes, leading to families leaving London and schools closing @CommunityPlann1
Guardian: “the Heygate estate was demolished in 2014..replaced by Elephant Park, built by Lendlease…the school roll slumped. Elephant Park has won many awards for “placemaking excellence”, is seen as an exemplar of a new global regeneration industry.” theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
As well as rhetoric criticising nature, the government also use appalling language when talking about those who care about nature's recovery, climate mitigation and/or future food security, calling them Nimbys, blockers and zealots. Such contemptuous language leads to hate…
Exclusive polling for me from @Ipsos shows that just one in four people in Britain are against housebuilding. So why do we talk about NIMBYism so much? My piece @theipaper cc @BenIpsosUK inews.co.uk/news/just-one-…
“A 100 year old supporter prepared to go to extreme lengths by chaining herself to a tree” - Thelma IS amazing! (Support for our costs so Thelma doesn’t have to do that is appreciated: crowdjustice.com/case/save-wimb…)
Labour’s housing announcements are really sensible… 🏡 make developers commit to delivery timeframes… 🏡 …give councils power to take sites back if they don’t But there is a big problem that planning reform does not address - and Labour knows this - that’s the cost of homes
