🧵1/10 It’s hard to believe it’s been 21 months since I took office. Yesterday, we held a state of the district to look back on the past two years of work. From block parties, to rallies, to the chambers at city hall, my team and I have centered neighborhood voices.

EDC has failed to address the concerns of my community, so yesterday, I was prepared to vote against the proposed BMT plan. With this postponement, I remain prepared to engage with our community members to address ongoing concerns. READ MY FULL STATEMENT: council.nyc.gov/alexa-aviles/s…

.@CMAlexaAviles says it cannot be underscored how disruptive the closure of our Red Hook pool is to our community and our neighbors. @NY4P is proud to support the neighbor-led campaign fighting for Red Hook Pool. Sign the petition here: secure.ny4p.org/a/let-red-hook…
At a time when behavioral health needs are rising, services have been cut. That’s why it’s so exciting to know that our community will soon be able to access expanded behavioral health services. I’m grateful to my Brooklyn delegation & @MaimoHealth for bringing this to fruition.

Today, I rallied alongside @BkCB7, @TransAlt , and other community partners calling for real safety investments in a 3rd Ave redesign. We have seen far too many of our neighbors harmed by traffic violence that could be prevented. We cannot let this continue. 📷:Michelle Deme, TA

🏮8th Avenue is a Chinatown, a place full of culture, history, and hardworking immigrant families. As a community, it’s our shared responsibility to keep the spaces we share clean and safe. Thank you to Councilmember @CMAlexaAviles, @HCS_Homecrest, and all the amazing volunteers.
Today we stood with @BkCB7, @CMAlexaAviles, @MMitaynes @Sen_Gounardes, @UPROSE, @MixtecaOrg, and other community members to demand that @NYCMayor finally make Third Avenue safe. No more deaths in Sunset Park.
Our 8th Ave cleanup yesterday showed the power of working together! Volunteers of all ages made our community shine. Grateful to partner with @CMAlexaAviles Office and @pcra_nyc to keep our community clean and welcoming.
