If loving bollards is wrong I don't want to be right
The kindness of strangers Love the NHS. Love London. Love Londoners A thread : I've been cycling daily in London for over 25 years. A couple of weeks back, shit happened. No idea how or why, in a split second, over the handlebars, I face-planted at speed into Shoreditch High St
Between 40% and 50% of households in Hackney's LTNs live in social housing, and most social housing has no through traffic. Mythbusting on behalf of these grifters 👇
The recent report from Rachel Aldred's Active Travel Academy found casualties fell in LTNs. But there's a strong argument the focus on LTNs gets in the way of efforts to cut overall casualties. The focus should be on deprived areas.
Imagine if we did this every time a driver hit someone with a car.
@limebike should be free for U-18s to enhance physical and mental wellbeing, encourage users towards a lifetime of using public transport, and reducing car travel addiction. Make it part of Zipcard.
'That annoying Beep Beep Beep is the ire of many city dwellers' I'll tell you what is annoying: the 7,500 hit-and-runs by cars recorded annually in London. This trumps my concerns about the sounds made by bikes used by kids who lack access to bikes. theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2…
Optimising road capacity might seem a complex challenge. But it turns out that the basic math is remarkably simple! (📸 by @FrauKrone)
There are fewer than 200 km of separated cycle lanes in London, out of 15000km of road for cars. Stop whining
Because it usually takes road space away from cars
Main road traffic belongs on main roads. Most of the traffic cutting through Hackney is not local
More plans to increase segregation in what is already one of the most traffic segregated boroughs in London. Hackney has published plans for its Dalston LTN. Will ease traffic on some roads at the expense of others. consultation.hackney.gov.uk/streetscene/da…
Fuel duty has been frozen since 2010, and you can now receive £3,750 off a new electric vehicle courtesy of the government. Drivers have never had it so good theguardian.com/money/2025/jul…
Able-bodied parents who are still driving their children to school in London in 2025 should face some form of school detention ; ) School-run traffic accounts for an average of 35% of morning traffic in London.
A great example of private cars ruining it for essential journeys. Pay per mile pls

I wish you would make it cheaper and easier to own an electric bicycle. Not everyone can or wants to drive.
We're making it cheaper and easier to own an electric vehicle. You can get up to £3,750 off a new EV, and we're rolling out charge points to more drivers every 30 mins. We're backing British business and putting more money in your pocket. 🇬🇧⚡🚗 metro.co.uk/2025/07/14/gra…
Hackney has published plans for the long-awaited Dalston LTN. The scheme would remove through traffic between the A10 and Amhurst Road — and in particular create a low-traffic cycle route between Cycleway 1 and Lea Bridge Road (a major missing link) consultation.hackney.gov.uk/streetscene/da…
It's a mystery when you're driving something 6ft wide, you only notice the bikes and not the parked cars.

LTNs aim to reduce the impact of vehicles in London. The steady increase in both the number and size of cars is unsustainable. LTNs work standard.co.uk/comment/ltns-c…
