Hot weather can be expected across SE Texas next week with highs in the 90s to triple digits and lows in the 70s to lower 80s. Heat index values will be over 100 degrees. Make sure to drink plenty of water and take breaks to cool off. #TXwx #HOUwx
Similar to yesterday, scattered showers & storms will pop up through the afternoon. Locally heavy rainfall, with rain rates of 1-2" per hour, will be possible in isolated strong storms. Minor flooding is possible. Remember, do not drive through flooded roads/underpasses. #HOUwx
Summer's hottest weather so far will continue today and tomorrow before rain chances arrive Friday and Saturday courtesy of a tropical wave/disturbance that should not develop. More heat is coming next week. Matt's got details: spacecityweather.com/heat-should-pe…
Hot & humid weather through tomorrow with heat indices rising to near 105°F in spots. Slightly cooler weather on Friday as rain chances increase as a system approaches from the east. Speaking of, no changes with regard to that system as NHC maintains a 10% chance of development.
Hot, humid, and mostly rain-free weather will continue through Thursday. Slightly cooler weather is expected by the end of the week as rain chances and cloud cover increase. #HOUwx
Has our Houston summer been pretty moderate so far? It seems that way, but today we explore what the numbers tell us. That aside, yesterday was the hottest day of the year so far, and we may best that again over the next couple weeks: spacecityweather.com/has-it-been-a-…
Matt says we could see some of our hottest weather of summer so far this week and possibly next week. A tropical wave is unlikely to develop, but it may bring an increase in shower chances in between, beginning Friday. We've got the sizzle today: spacecityweather.com/a-mostly-quiet…
Happy Monday, SE Texas! Hot and mostly dry conditions will be with us for most of the work week with temperatures in the mid to upper 90s and heat indices in the 100s. Be sure to practice heat safety! Rain chances return towards the end of the work week.#TXwx #HOUwx #BCSwx #GLSwx
Rain chances persist today with the potential for a few storms with locally heavy rainfall this afternoon. After today, we crank up the heat! High temperatures next week will be in the mid to upper 90s with heat indices well into the triple digits. #TXwx #HOUwx #BCSwx #GLSwx
Once again modeling is trying to show ridging anchoring in the plains/ southern plains. While the Midwest and East may have support for seeing a bonafide heatwave, Texas will struggle to see sustained real heat imo due to very high soil moisture. We will dry out some however,…
We'll watch for some heavy downpours in parts of the area today, but rain chances begin to dwindle this weekend. Details on what's to come next: spacecityweather.com/after-today-it…
Rainfall is beginning to move in from the east this morning due to the increase in tropical moisture. Locally heavy rainfall remains possible today east of I-45. Going into early next week we transition to a hot and dry weather pattern. #TXwx #HOUwx #GLSwx #BCSwx
Development odds may be dwindling, but the heavy rain and flood threat remain today and tomorrow across southern Louisiana. Also, don't look now, but the tropical Atlantic is heating up 📈 More in today's newsletter ⬇️ michaelrlowry.substack.com/p/development-…
Moisture increases later today, but looks like the heaviest rains with 93L will remain east of our local area #houwx #txwx
Invest 93L continues to straddle the Gulf coast, and model guidance has backed off of tropical cyclone formation. Statistically speaking, this means a tropical cyclone is unlikely to form. But how much difference does it make impact-wise? Not much, it turns out…
Wonderful to see a nearly full Lake Travis. Some drone shots I took today. #laketravis @ChikageWeather @JDarensbourgWx @averytomascowx @Hunt_Wx
Invest #93L's low-level center is inland over northern Florida this morning, as expected. The risk of tropical cyclone formation is tied to the mid-level trough and thunderstorm activity offshore over the Gulf. So far, there is no sign of significant organization, and models have…
Today will feature generally drier weather. Isolated showers and thunderstorms possible Thursday as tropical moisture increases. Rain chances increase Friday with the influx of tropical moisture. A marginal to slight risk of excessive rainfall exists for SE TX Friday and Saturday
Today we look at the reality of Invest 93L in a landscape of garbage information. Flooding concerns remain for Louisiana on Friday in particular. We’ve also got some news on repetitive flooding in the Petersburg, VA area. Read more here: open.substack.com/pub/theeyewall…
