The social housing map is now online! link in my profile. It's a work in progress. To do: -Add info on economic activity/unemployment rates, maybe rents if there are good enough data -Improve the mobile experience -General optimization
"When [the stirring up racial hatred] offence was first introduced 60 years ago, critics presciently argued that its provisions against “hate” would be so broad that it would effectively criminalise people’s opinions. It’s hard to argue otherwise today." My latest @Telegraph
Nothing to see here, just Farage openly stating he's to the left of public opinion on immigration.
Nigel Farage tells @harrytlambert that Robert Jenrick will “almost certainly” move to the right of him by the next election
You mean they would build me the five bedroom house in the Peak District I've always wanted? Awesome!
As Tony Benn used to say, pay close attention to the way governments treat refugees. Because that's how they'd treat you if they could get away with it.
Vaizey calls phone theft a 'semi-victimless crime.' The real harm, he says, is the damage to public confidence that occurs when people notice crime being committed with impunity. British politicians do not see problems to be solved, only perceptions to be managed.
“It does sort of make you think, well, why am I playing by the rules?” A lack of cohesive crime enforcement is eroding public trust in the British justice system, particularly on low-level offences, says Sunday Times columnist @CharlotteIvers.

"Diversity built Britain! London would be a pile of rubble without immigration!" A typical Crossrail team (London, White British - 36.8%):
We can run the same sort of analysis using ethnicity rather than migration. Broadly speaking a 10% higher or lower share of people white British in an area correlated with a 4% higher or lower net internal migration rate - though there is still scatter.
We're building them 5 bedroom bespoke homes in some of the nicest parts of the country, Fraser. Priti Patel granted them ILR on arrival, Fraser. They don't need to work - not now, not ever. They're entitled to everything British citizens are and so much more. I'm racking my brain…
How does he do it
"Governments have no right to lay, or at any rate must be very judicious in the laying of burdens on the backs of their own countrymen in order that they may indulge a refined sense of chivalry towards foreigners."
For those whose principles change with the weather, it was right to stand by those who stood by our armed forces in 2021, and it’s right to stand by them now. Faces of the Afghans murdered by Taliban since ‘kill list’ leak telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/07/1…
What????????????
Not something I've seen remarked on yet. I'm not sure how you'd even describe a system that reacts to blackmail / threats by throwing open the gates and then letting the blackmailer in specifically. Not the biggest story here, but certainly a chaser. Remarkable.
Asylum grant rates vary enormously by time and place, they do not represent the "ground truth"
Facts don’t care about your feelings
After this happened, the local Labour MP Paul Waugh went and met the men who allegedly did it and their family “for a long time in their home”. “It’s clear from talking to them that they are traumatised”, he said, adding that “you can imagine just how distraught they are”. He…
Its not just that charity workers are doing this - its that almost every NGO involved, along with the many registered charities supporting illegal immigration and preventing deportation from this side of the Channel, are in receipt of Government funds.
When are we going to criminalise the British charity workers facilitating crossings in northern France? Other European countries have at least some sanctions in place. Encampments would not be able to exist without the aid of these organisations.
Zoe Gardener, pro-migrant activist, thinks it shouldn't be a crime to burn a model of a London tower in which people actually burned to death, while it should be a 'hate crime' to burn an effigy of a migrant boat. This is an almost pathological preference for the outsider. It…
Last year, over 100,000 people applied for asylum in the UK, but this is much lower than the rates in other European countries such as Germany, Spain, Italy and France. Is the UK too attractive to migrants?
They've got cause and effect backwards. The reason there are so many foreigners living in London is *because* they have access to social housing. Tom Calver of the Times made the same error.
Incredible level of stats abuse here “it’s not nearly half of council houses, it’s 48% of their heads of household and 49% of all households in London include someone [anyone] foreign-born anyway”
The ILR time bomb can be stopped — The Government must apply the proposed change of increasing the qualifying period for settlement (ILR) to immigrants already here. This is vital to save £230 billion and block the Boriswave. Sign and share widely. petition.parliament.uk/petitions/7296…
In Britain, there is a small but clear negative relationship between a woman's intelligence and the number of children she has. (Subsetted to women aged 40–50, as they have likely finished having babies and their test scores are unaffected by age-related cognitive decline.)
A new meta-analysis found intelligence and fertility have different relationships in different countries, leading to very different rates of expected IQ decline.
