Still can't believe we got onto the cover of Science! Across 11 reserves and 7 years, we found that dehorning rhinos achieved large reductions in poaching. But it's not a magic bullet (read why) Full article: science.org/doi/10.1126/sc… Popular version: dailymaverick.co.za/article/2025-0…
Headline here nature.com/articles/d4158… should be “Iron deficiency in pregnant mice causes (SOME) XY embryos to develop with female characteristics. Interesting how 4/5% becomes a general statement. Result clearly says iron deficiency alone DOES NOT cause the phenotypic change.
🥳 Happy #DNADay! 🧬 What better way to celebrate than with cycleHCR: one of our newest tools, developed by the Liu Lab, that uses a novel DNA barcode system to track hundreds of RNA & protein molecules in single cells within thick biological samples ➡️ janelia.org/news/new-metho…
A new tissue expansion method developed by the Wang (@mengwang939) & Tillberg (@TillbergPaul) labs & the @LingjunLi2 lab @UWMadison enables scientists to use mass spec imaging to simultaneously detect 100s of molecules in single cells in intact tissues➡️ janelia.org/news/new-techn…
#hiring! come join @Eric_Betzig and the rest of an amazing team at the Advanced BioImaging Center at UC Berkeley to help us build the #CellObservatory! 1/2 aprecruit.berkeley.edu/JPF04858
Are you a #biologist looking to learn more about cell surface molecules? Apply today to attend a cross-disciplinary conference on the #biology and engineering of the cell surface at @HHMIJanelia (October 5-8). This @janeliaconf will: 🧪 Connect tool developers with biologists…
In this Review, @BernaSozen_ , Patrick Tam and @martinperaJAX summarize how recent studies of embryo models have advanced our understanding of cell state transitions of the pluripotent human epiblast and highlights some key remaining questions: doi.org/10.1242/dev.20…
